I've made a really bad judgement call this morning...

So... The kitten peed on the child's beanbag.
I couldn't get the smell out so I decided that emptying the inside sack (because they all have sacks right!?) and washing the cover in the machine was the way to go...

When I opened the beanbag, I was confronted with a torrent of loose beans..
So I proceed to fetch a bin bag, when I return (from 3 steps over in a cupboard), said kitten is INSIDE THE BLOODY BEANBAG!!

Still keeping my cool I thought... Yeah if I suck them up in the hoover extension I can just tip them into the bin bag...

Now my vac is broken, there's beans everywhere and I want to burn the house down so I don't get found out!

On the upside, the kitten is loving it Hmm

When that happened to me, the dustpan bristles rubbed up some kind of static and the polystyrene balls started hovering and orbiting it. It was cool, but annoying.

It's been 50 minutes since the start of my adventure Blush

Grin thanks for this it's made me feel so much better about my chores today xx

Pinkvoid · 06/06/2019 11:38

Argh my cat peed on my DC’s bean bag when we first got him too... Just throw the bean bag away and don’t bother getting a new one, evidently cats love pissing on them.

Baddabingbaddaboom · 06/06/2019 11:38

Luckily she's cute... (this isn't her now, she's still running around like a bloody lunatic)

I've made a really bad judgement call this morning...

Good luck with getting all those cleared up 😂😂

With the feline help 🤣

Those balls are going to keep coming back to haunt you I'm afraid. For years.

KatherineJaneway · 06/06/2019 11:40

So beautiful 😍

wildbhoysmama · 06/06/2019 11:41

I feel your pain- this was me last weekend after Padraig ( the massive, ugly, green fish the DCs won at Flamingo land as few years ago - why, oh why do they give those things as prizes?!!- )burst after DS15 threw it!

I was on hands and knees with a dust pan for ages as DS held the bin bag and listened to me whine! Bloody balls!

S1naidSucks · 06/06/2019 11:42

Make sure you check her little ears and nostrils for beads OP and over her coat. Cute and funny as it really is, you don’t want her she have problems from them being stuck or swallowing them.

Ir just send her to me and I’ll do it. I may have to keep her for a while, just to be sure she’s well. Maybe around 20yrs. Grin

CassianAndor · 06/06/2019 11:42

oh my God, I WANT HER!!!! What a gorgeous little bundle!

Whisky2014 · 06/06/2019 11:44

My dog burst ope our beam bag and yes, there was no bag inside to keep them in. So i put it all in the outdoor bin and unfortunately we had as storm so the bin blew over and there were bloody balls all over the road. Not good. Never buying a beanbag again!

QueenKubauOfKish · 06/06/2019 11:48

OMG been there OP. We had one when my DS was little and he managed to get it open - the horror! Never mind weeks, I was still finding them years later, right up until we sold the house and cleared everything out!

The tights method will do pick them up, but I've also found they are a bugger to put into a plastic bin bag because the static makes them stick to the bag / fly around everywhere. A big, tall cardboard box is a good bet if you have one.

You might be able to take the hoover apart and pick/brush all the beans out. I recently got something stuck in mine and it stopped working - I was amazed how comprehensively it all came to bits and clicked back together, without screws or anything, and I was able to fix it in a few minutes.

TheABC · 06/06/2019 11:48

Beautiful kitten!

Throw away the bean bag. Your hoover appears to be the bagless type, so you may be able to save it. Dismantle and empty it as much as possible - from bitter experience, I have found most blockages are actually in the front of the machine, blocking the suction, rather than the centrifugal bit. Do it on an old bedsheet, so you can just gather up the remaining mess afterwards and shake it into the bin.

Baddabingbaddaboom · 06/06/2019 11:49

I never wanted another one but my uncle thought it was a cool gift for dd 🙄

listsandbudgets · 06/06/2019 11:49

Oh dear.

I've had this happen though that time it was children not kittens and it was every bean in the damned bag.

I'm afraid I resorted to handing the DCs 2 huge mixing bowls then emptying them back into the beanbag. It took them nearly 2 hours .. we still found beans in random places for years after but they never intentionally burst a bean bag again! They were only 4 and their explanation was they were making a "Winter Wonderland"

Like you we tried hoovering them up but it wasn't really any good.

Sorry OP

SoupDragon · 06/06/2019 11:50

Is there any chance you could video that angelic looking kitten playing with the balls...?

QueenKubauOfKish · 06/06/2019 11:50

kitty! 🐱

listsandbudgets · 06/06/2019 11:51

She's utterly gorgeous. We've got a tabby too :)

Frittata · 06/06/2019 11:51

We definitely need more kitten photos to advise appropriately. She is gorgeous.

thequeenoftarts · 06/06/2019 11:54

She's a tabby lol, they have a streak of devilment in them..I know, from experience

TheTitOfTheIceberg · 06/06/2019 11:59

WANT KITTEN.

Purplecatshopaholic · 06/06/2019 11:59

This happened to me a few years ago (the bean bag explosion, not the kitten thing, lol). Still finding beans years later....

Hecateh · 06/06/2019 11:59

Spray the ball with a dilute mix of fabric conditioner or vinegar and water, should reduce the static and make it easier to collect them. Also spray the inside of the plastic bin bag or whatever you are collecting them in.

I had visions of the little one covered with balls sticking to him with the static
