Is Donald Trump ill? Otherwise what would explain such imbecility?

Has he missed some 💊 on his international flight? Who visits someone and promptly pisses on the doorstep? His comments about Sadiq Khan are beyond disgraceful. Disgusting creature.

Fascist, dear.

BertrandRussell · 03/06/2019 12:49

I still want to know why Khan is such a bad mayor.

augustusglupe · 03/06/2019 12:50

Totally agree Mr Trump should’ve kept quiet...however I think it was Khan who started the mud slinging.
Of course it’s one rule for one and another for Mr Trump again Hmm

Longtalljosie · 03/06/2019 12:51

It all started when Trump attempted to ban foreign-born Muslims from the US. He was asked about SK and said he’d make an exception. SK said to naff off and it escalated from there...

Helmet Spot on!!

Helmetbymidnight · 03/06/2019 12:52

How do you mean?

LillithsFamiliar · 03/06/2019 12:53

Trump and Sadiq Khan have been making petty jibes at each other for a long time. They're both narcissists with an ability to jump on any bandwagon that's passing.
As for planning for the balloon, LAs are adept at refusing planning. There's no 'right' to planning. The balloon was granted because someone somewhere thought having a blimp of the US President was a mature and diplomatic response and a great representation of British diplomacy Hmm Compare it to how other European countries have acted on US visits. I honestly wonder when our country descended to student stunts. And when I think of the arms dealers and war mongers who have been welcomed with open arms, I'm honestly flummoxed at how easily manipulated some people are.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/06/2019 12:54

You said Sadiq Khan was just as bad as Donald Trump.

Yes, in this particular spat.

My views on Khan's mayoral success is separate to that.

PickleC · 03/06/2019 12:55

The 'wonderful' thing about Trump is that you constantly think he can't get any lower, can't attack women more, can't get more racist, can't be more uncaring (how many children have now died at the border? how many times has he gone bankrupt avoid paying what he owes? how much tax has he avoided and boasted of it?), couldn't be more ignorant or reckless - and yet there he is. No dignity, no class and the tragedy is he will probably never be held to account.

Lweji · 03/06/2019 12:56

How is saying that Farage should be in charge anything but insulting to the UK?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/06/2019 12:57

And apart from not magically turning into a green city, what else have you got on him?

There is nothing magical about it, it's something he promised and hasn't delivered. If he didn't think it was possible, magic aside, then should not have done so.

Lweji · 03/06/2019 12:59

If he didn't think it was possible, magic aside, then should not have done so.

Were you born yesterday?
All politicians are abysmal by that logic.

Isatis · 03/06/2019 13:01

Khan doesn't have any valid reason to forbid the flying of the Trump balloon. We do protect the right to free speech, or in this case free expressions of opinion, in this country,.

Trump hasn't even done his homework. Contrary to what he says, Khan is generally recognised to have done a pretty good job, particularly given the mess he was left with in clearing up Johnson's vanity projects and the limitations imposed by central government.

Alsohuman · 03/06/2019 13:01

How was he supposed to create this green city in three years? Trees take decades to grow.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/06/2019 13:02

Sorry, it matters to me. I live in London and it's turning into a grey concrete built up massive, and it wasn't like that. So he promised to green it up and yes, I voted for him.

Never again.

Isatis · 03/06/2019 13:02

I don't think you can describe Trump's overt racism in relation to Khan as a "petty jibe", LillithsFamiliar.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/06/2019 13:04

How was he supposed to create this green city in three years? Trees take decades to grow.

Of corse they take decades to grow, that's why you have to plant them first.
You have to plan and plant the green corridors.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 03/06/2019 13:06

Trees take decades to grow.

No! Now you tell me.

Birdie6 · 03/06/2019 13:07

Press - "Mr Trump, did you know that X has called you a sexist pig ?"
DT - " Oh I hadn't realised that X was so nasty"

Press - " Donald Trump says X is nasty! "

I don't like DT but the press does twist his words to create drama.

Notabedofroses · 03/06/2019 13:09

Sadiq Khan has not been a great mayor for London:

  1. He spends much of his time on luxury holidays and not in London
  2. He has zero presence and we never see him anywhere, ever.
  3. He has put very little imagination or flair into encouraging business to come to London
  4. He is basically completely invisible unless he is tweeting about Trump
  5. He has done nothing at all to address the serious issues of knife crime, cyclists being killed every day on the roads, pollution or any number of things that are important to our lives every day.

I was thrilled when he was given the role, and find him pleasant enough, I see his term as Mayor as abysmal with no legacy whatsoever.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 03/06/2019 13:10

www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/london-environment-strategy-sets-out-vision

Apparently: "Since the start of his Mayoralty he has directly funded the planting of over 70,000 trees, with City Hall partners planting an additional 40,000 in 2016/17 alone. A further £4 million has been committed to support more tree planting."

Probably not enough, but it's a start.

Notabedofroses · 03/06/2019 13:12

chardonnay is right, we voted for a green mayor that would transform the city into somewhere fit for the 21st century, healthy and vibrant place to live and work. I can not see any evidence of this whatsoever, or any progress of any description. Ask anyone who lives or works here, and they will tell you the same.

Xmas2020 · 03/06/2019 13:14

Khan does not represent all Londoners, he fired the first insult, guess the truth hurts!

Helmetbymidnight · 03/06/2019 13:14

I don't like DT but the press does twist his words to create drama.

OMG, the President - an actual president - says about a young woman - a new member of the RF: 'I didn't know that she was so nasty' then denies it, outright lies, even though he was recorded, and says he never said it, - and people are actually standing up for him!!!

Fucking hell. Some people set the bar for normal behaviour incredibly low.

LillithsFamiliar · 03/06/2019 13:16

Isatis Khan's office called Trump an example of the 'growing far right'. They've both used strong words. I still consider the jibes petty because the purpose is to point score with their base and inflame rather than dampen.
