Based on you experiances do you feel being 25 with a 32yr old dp. Two dc aged 3 and 4. And two step kids 11 and 9. Is too much responsibilty for the 25yr old.
There ovbs a much bigger background story to this situation. But just in regards to the age of the mother. Would you say its an unreasonable situation to put herself in?

Teachers aren't professional parents, it's a different skill set. Teachers also specialise in an age group and if secondary a subject. A brilliant and inspiring key stage 3 and 4 or GCSE and A level maths (or any other subject) teacher might be absolutely useless with primary school children and preschoolers, and a beloved, respected and experienced reception class teacher might be overwhelmed by his or her own teenagers and out of her comfort zone with 9 year olds.

Children want utterly different things from parents than from teachers and behave totally differently. Just as parents, even of large families, can't necessarily teach, teachers have only very limited insight into parenting or advantages as parents. It's a different skill set, the same way a blacksmith might not be able to ride or a nutritionist might be a bacook or a vet might not be much good at training police dogs...

The step kids part is possibly the most difficult. Age difference no great shakes, two young kids perfectly normal but throw in two older step kids and there’s your problem. It’s hell being a step mum.

Sorry obvs hadnt read the whole thread. Not surprised the issue is step kids, I’ve never met anyone IRL who’s step relationship has actually left them fully happy.

I’ve been Being for years. Hmm Most definitely not a name change.
