Looks like an old Habitat pattern to me.

Jasging · 01/06/2019 00:11

WAC-A-DAY??

MustShowDH · 01/06/2019 00:11

Chelsea Girl / Tammy girl carrier bag????
Something like that is coming to mind.
Off to Google.....

FurrySlipperBoots · 01/06/2019 00:17

I immediately though 'Saved by the Bell' too but I just watched the intro on Youtube and its not there!! Now I'm confused and creeped out - why did we all think that it was?

FurrySlipperBoots · 01/06/2019 00:19

It's not 'Sister Sister' either!

90's TV was the best

This has been on my Facebook too. I've been pondering it for a while.
Is it from the kids programme 'Allsorts' with the woman who plays Lisa from Emmerdale assuming she's still in it Characters were Jiffy, Bonzo and JJ.

DustyMaiden · 01/06/2019 00:23

Comedy with black characters.

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 01/06/2019 00:40

Sanitary towels - that had those covers to 'disguise' them ?

Something to do with swatch watches?

Kimchee306 · 01/06/2019 00:46

First thought was saved by the bell.
How weird that so many people would say that.

ZiggyB · 01/06/2019 01:03

www.everything80spodcast.com/memphis-design/

It’s called the Memphis design but that’s as much as I know. I initially thought Duran Duran album cover but I can’t find it anywhere.

Then I wondered if it’s a bank uniform blouse pattern or travel agents.

It’s making me cross now though as I definitely recognise it.

PackingSoap · 01/06/2019 01:08

I recognise it. It's about 1984/5.

For some reason, I keep thinking of a textile or a wallpaper. And a cartoon character with spiky hair.

PackingSoap · 01/06/2019 01:28

Dh thinks it's from the opening credits to a TV show from the 80s.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 01/06/2019 01:32

It's familiar because it was EVERYWHERE in the 80s. As a pp said, this and similar patters are referred to as the Memphis design.

Fresh Prince of bell air ?

freshasthebrightbluesky · 01/06/2019 01:47

RevealTheLegend thank you. I'm wrong. It's not the same as I remembered!

PackingSoap · 01/06/2019 01:55

This is weird. I thought it might have been a Now cover, but it's not. Then I thought it might have been Smash Hits, but no. Then a Clock House bag, but no. Not Chelsea Girl either. Nor Just 17.

I've a feeling it might have been bedsheets from Argos or something like that. Maybe wallpaper.

But it's very familiar in a way that other Memphis designs aren't.

I wish I could find that cartoon character.

bpirockin · 01/06/2019 02:20

Oh no, this is going to do my head in - it really is familiar, and not in a generic way, but that precise colour and pattern.

Aaaaarrrggghh!!!

I'm pinning my hopes on a hoarder wannabe friend who just might have something in her loft! I'm with the book / record sleeve brigade at the moment.

ImpracticalCape · 01/06/2019 02:27

I think it's a book or a album cover too. Like another PO said I feel it's the border and there's a pic in the middle of a group of people.

Empathy56 · 01/06/2019 02:36

WHS carpet?

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 01/06/2019 02:38

DroningOn · 01/06/2019 04:30

It's a skateboard pattern.

Even the black edge of the rear truck can be seen just at the bottom of the original picture

ImpracticalCape · 01/06/2019 04:35

@DroningOn the original poster on twitter found the pattern on a skateboard but found it familiar from something else in the 80's 90's hence the request.
