To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

Time to POAS.

3luckystars · 30/05/2019 08:05

Well, yes you absolutely could be pregnant, yes.

You will have to take a test to find out.

TheJoxter · 30/05/2019 08:05

If you had unprotected sex the chances of you being pregnant are very high, you’re extremely fertile after giving birth

ErickBroch · 30/05/2019 08:08

Obviously you could be pregnant, 'pulling out' isn't contraception and you're extremely fertile after giving birth.

Dipdedickindetol · 30/05/2019 08:10

You had unprotected sex, of course you could be pregnant. Weird shit happens after you have a baby and 2 in 11 months isn't that uncommon.

IME neither pulling out nor crossing your fingers are reliable birth control.

Go to see your GP to get a test and, if you don't want to have another baby immediately, have a chat about birth control.

Neron · 30/05/2019 08:12

You've had unprotected sex, multiple times when you've just had a baby and you're asking mumsnet if you could be pregnant?

TokyoSushi · 30/05/2019 08:12

It's very likely OP as you're a lot more fertile shortly after birth, my friend wss with a 9 week old!

FenellaMaxwell · 30/05/2019 08:12

You had sex when your body is hyper-fertile, without using protection. So yes, you could be pregnant. Pulling out is not contraception.

NotSoThinLizzy · 30/05/2019 08:15

Time to POAS. Hope you get the answers you want

b0bb1n · 30/05/2019 08:16

What about the suspected period tho? Could I even have been fertile enough just a few days before having what could have been a real period and the day after? I don't know anything about how the first ovulation / periods etc work after a baby.

Nameusernameuser · 30/05/2019 08:19

You would have been super fertile at the time! You need to take a test (and update on here)
Also in awe you have dtd so often with an 8 week old Grin

Teacakeandalatte · 30/05/2019 08:19

Don't waste time wondering if it is possible, as it is, so poas asap.

NotSoThinLizzy · 30/05/2019 08:20

My cousin got pregnant 6 weeks after baby number 1 and had no period so its entirely possible. Worth doing a test to put your mind at ease.

Alsohuman · 30/05/2019 08:21

What do you call people who use coitus interruptus? Parents.

It’s entirely possible you’re pregnant. My gran had babies in April and March of consecutive years.

JuniperNarni · 30/05/2019 08:21

Could the period have been implantion bleeding?
You're super fertile after a baby so if you've had unprotected sex then there is a very high chance you're pregnant again. Time to take a test.

blackcatclocks · 30/05/2019 08:21

You had unprotected sex, is say there was a very good chance you could be pregnant.

AgnesNaismith · 30/05/2019 08:22

POAS! Although would that not be quite early for morning sickness?

Tremar · 30/05/2019 08:22

If you aren't breastfeeding on demand, then yes, very very high chance of pregnancy. It's the stopping, or reducing of breastfeeds which kicks starts your fertility again, so if you haven't breastfeed, or breastfed for a short time, when you stopped/reduced feeds you would start ovulating again. This is where alot of women get caught out soon after birth, as there's so much confusion about not being fertile after birth. If baby is under 6 months, being breastfed on demand, around the clock (through the night), no expressed feeds or formula feeds, and no solid foods introduced, no sign of periods returning, it can be used as an effective form of contraceptive, but as soon as one of these factors isn't being met, pregnancy will be highly likely. You will become fertile around 2 weeks before your first returned period.

mummmy2017 · 30/05/2019 08:23

How selfish is your partner to put pleasure before your health.
Any sex can lead to pregnancy, everytime you have sex, unless one of you uses protection.

Nixen · 30/05/2019 08:25

Unprotected sex at the most fertile you’ll ever be? Um that was stupid

MrsMozartMkII · 30/05/2019 08:26

Time to poas lass.

MrsBertBibby · 30/05/2019 08:26

I was really queasy in the period between conception and knowing, which was just as well as I had a load of parties in those days and would have drunk a lot of wine had I felt OK.

Take the test OP.

NomDeQwerty · 30/05/2019 08:27

You can have siblings who are not twins in the same school year so yes it's possible. POAS.

UCOinanOCG · 30/05/2019 08:27

Of course you could be pregnant. Best get a test and check.

BringItBackSingItBack · 30/05/2019 08:28
