To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

There's 10 1/2 months between my two (I don't carry pregnancies to full term so we weren't as rampant as that initially sounds). Was fine for us, we had taken years to conceive DD1 so were quite happy to see whatever happened with regards to a second child and they are incredibly close as siblings now (I feel distinctly tag teamed at times)!

Two under 1 isn't as hellish as people imagine it to be... two toddlers not heading in the same direction IS much more of a hair raising proposition (but you survive)!

Figgygal · 30/05/2019 11:33

Did anyone not tell you how babies are made or are you actively trying to get pregnant again?

SoupDragon · 30/05/2019 11:37

Do people think that being nasty is at all helpful to the OP?

thisisadistraction · 30/05/2019 11:39

Thinking about all that sex after child birth is making my foof hurt.

clairelee17 · 30/05/2019 11:45

I think only a pregnancy test can tell you this, not us!

Pinkvoid · 30/05/2019 11:55

sohot that was a thoroughly interesting read, especially the part about your body believing formula feeding = baby hasn’t survived. Learn something new every day...

I EBF’d all of mine but still got pregnant six months after the first two were born without a period. I also co-slept so fed around the clock and barely ever had sex so it was honestly a miracle of kinds... So yes, very possible even if you are EBFing.

You have had unprotected sex a handful of times, withdrawal doesn’t count as contraception so of course you could be pregnant. POAS Smile.

BummyKnocker · 30/05/2019 12:02

Only me impressed you had the time and energy for sex.....! Grin

Smokesandeats · 30/05/2019 12:02

Is anyone else impressed that the OP had the energy to dtd so many times within a few weeks of giving birth? Smile

BrendasUmbrella · 30/05/2019 12:03

She doesn't sound upset, I don't see why people are acting like she's gone and ruined her life?

Smokesandeats · 30/05/2019 12:03

Brummy - we had the same thought!

happyhillock · 30/05/2019 12:04

I didn't have sex for 3 months after my 1st DD, i was to exhausted, can't imagine having 2 that close to one another.

spiderlight · 30/05/2019 12:08

Shameless placemark for POAS result! I have a friend with two 10 months apart, in the same school year, and my cousins are only 11 months apart, so it's definitely feasible.

Mumsymumphy · 30/05/2019 12:10

I'm just sat here wondering how on earth all these ladies had the time/energy/inclination/unsore bodies to actually even contemplate the mere thought of DTD so soon after childbirth!!

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 30/05/2019 12:11

Following to see outcome BlushGin

Badwifey · 30/05/2019 12:16

Brummie I thought the same thing!! I think I had sex once in 6 months after my dd came along! Least sexiest time of my life ever!!!

Fairyjuice · 30/05/2019 12:17

There's just under a year between my first 2 kids so yes, it definitely can happen!

I had a similar reaction from people who were amazed at us DTD so soon after birth 😂

Chloemol · 30/05/2019 12:17

@ newdells. You are giving incorrect information. Read the other posts, and just for your information my friend has daughters with 11 months between them, so both in the same school year so it can and does happen

freshstartnewme · 30/05/2019 12:19

Omg as if newdells post was anything other than sarcasm Grin

User8888888 · 30/05/2019 12:20

I’ve got a newborn and every health professional I’ve seen since the birth has said something about contraception and high fertility post birth especially as I was formula feeding. I left the hospital with a booklet re contraception in the discharge pack. Didn’t anyone mention it? You seem quite surprised by the possibility.

candlefloozy · 30/05/2019 12:20

Also I remember two days after having my baby desperate for sex! But obviously couldn't. So as soon as I was physically better we were straight at it.

LagunaBubbles · 30/05/2019 12:24

OP since you weren't using contraception I'm not sure why the possibility of being pregnant would be a shock? Confused

newdells · 30/05/2019 12:27

@Chloemol thanks for the information 👍🏻 I was clearly being very serious.

Shamelessly waiting on the result here.
We were back at it very quickly after birth too Blush
