To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

You ovulate 2 weeks (ish) before your period starts. So when your period returns after giving birth, you've already been fertile for 2+ weeks.

PaintingOwls · 30/05/2019 08:30

I don't think it's the pulling out that's the problem here Hmm it's the other times they DTD and didn't bother!

Anyway OP time to POAS. As others have said, this is pretty common!

jaseyraex · 30/05/2019 08:31

Of course you could be pregnant! I'd be out to buy a test as soon as a shop opens. Might not have been a period, I thought mine had started a few weeks after birth but was actually still lochia. It became redder and heavier after having sex so I mistook it for a period, it apparently does this if you do too much too soon.

Justgorgeous · 30/05/2019 08:31

Surely with what you have just described you were actively trying ? I just don’t get it. Having unprotected sex and then wondering if you are pregnant?

WillLokireturn · 30/05/2019 08:32

It is perfectly possible. After unprotected sex several times, probable. Take a test to check.

StrumpersPlunkett · 30/05/2019 08:32

Think you probably are pregnant congratulations 💐

HogMother · 30/05/2019 08:32

We have siblings 10 months apart in our family. Completely possible to be pregnant.

diddl · 30/05/2019 08:33

"But she's just had a baby?"

And had unprotected sex since having the baby!

piekebab · 30/05/2019 08:33

There were 2 in my year, one born September, the other in July, totally possible.

eurochick · 30/05/2019 08:33

You've had unprotected sex at a very fertile time. Of course you could be pregnant.

Dyrne · 30/05/2019 08:34

Uh, yes, very probable that you are pregnant. Time to buy a pregnancy test. Also time to do some reading up on how reproduction works as you appear to be confused and are believing all the myths (hint: sex standing up isn’t an effective contraception either).

Namestheyareachangin · 30/05/2019 08:34

Happened to my stepsister, her two youngest girls are just 11 months apart in age. Accident so she was pretty devastated at the time! But worked out well in the end as the girls are utterly inseparable.

The thing I don't understand after having had a section myself (as she did with the older one) is how in the hell she managed to shag so soon after!!! Not a question I'll be asking however :)

CruellaFeinberg · 30/05/2019 08:35

No offense meant, but did you want to have another baby?
Were you OK with dtd so soon without contraception?

Dyrne · 30/05/2019 08:37

Also you may want to tell your doctor anyway as unprotected sex so soon post partum can carry a risk of causing an infection

labazsisgoingmad · 30/05/2019 08:44

i was pregnant at my 6 week check up so can happen

sazzy5 · 30/05/2019 08:44

Definitely, I know a few that have siblings less than a year apart.

user1471433387 · 30/05/2019 08:45

Following on from Tremar’s post, please do not rely on breastfeeding as an effective form of birth control. I ebf both my babies on demand and got my period back within 2 months of giving birth. There were no signs.

If you don’t want to get pregnant, use protection.

Didntwanttochangemyname · 30/05/2019 08:47

Oh for goodness sake, you had unprotected sex, this can lead to pregnancy. You can use the excuse that you 'didn't know', if you don't know something look it up!

LoafofSellotape · 30/05/2019 08:48

Very possible you are pregnant.

NorthernRunner · 30/05/2019 08:48

This is the time when you are at your most fertile, regardless of the possible period, yes it’s very likely you are pregnant.

Cookit · 30/05/2019 08:51

You can have siblings who are not twins in the same school year so yes it's possible. POAS.
Not possible for the OP though as she has a spring baby...? Possible if your first is one of the oldest in the year.

Ihatehashtags · 30/05/2019 08:52

Honestly

pinkdelight · 30/05/2019 08:55

To the PP who blamed the DH for putting his pleasure first, there's no implication that the OP was under duress, nor that she wasn't putting her own pleasure first.

They both need to be smarter about contraception however. (and he could ditch the tobacco too)

ISpeakJive · 30/05/2019 08:59

POAS and if it's negative and you really don't want to be pregnant, use contraception!

rosegoldivy · 30/05/2019 08:59

following shamelessly to find out if OP is pregnant :)
