They're stretchy and comfortable, not because they're "sexy"?

They aren’t sexy. And I wouldn’t wear them in their own with a short top - no one should over 10 no matter how good their figure is. They look like thick tights. They are just an extra layer under shorter dresses or tunics.

Well, I've never put a toe through my leggings. Or had my leggings ladder.

I've never had my leggings slowly descend over the course of the day until I'm wearing the gusset closer to my knees than my crotch.

My leggings have never made me itch dreadfully.

Oh, and I can actually buy leggings that fit me. I got horribly bullied at school because neither me nor my mother could find tights that had long enough legs. And when we did finally find a source, they were horrendously expensive.

And they just make me feel bad. See the bullying.

I just got a couple of puma ones from sports direct that are nice and long. I'm about a 34/35 leg and they still sit above my ankles but they look fine. Just incase you're looking for a pair 😂

Tights don't stay up the same as leggings for a lot of people, especially those with longer legs because they have feet at the bottom.

I don't wear them because I don't like them, but they are fine providing you check your back view and realise if theyre a bit thin, a thong might not be the best go to underwear!

Definitely not sexy, except maybe if you are thin and wear it with something slinky. I mostly wear mine for comfort although they have the added bonus of keeping me looking decent when my 4 year old climbs into my lap and my dress rides up.

I wear them because they're comfy and easy to wear, especially under tunic dresses.

However, I always get paranoid that they're going to burst a seam and expose my arse to the world. So yeah.

My DH finds me irresistible in leggings! I only wear them at home though.

I wear leggings with tunics because they are comfy and practical, they launder extremely quickly too. I see women wearing similar and have never thought anything of it.

DD9 wears them as they are comfy and practical. She used to suffer very badly with eczema so was allowed to wear grey leggings to school instead of trousers or skirt and tights. They were so easy to wash with all the ointments she had to use too.

Denim still feels too rough on her sensitive skin and jogging bottoms make her too warm and itchy. Luckily in the summer her skin improves massively and she can wear any shorts. She is happy as long as she can climb, run, ride, paint or play without discomfort.

I don’t claim to be a fashionista and I don’t aim for sexy. I don’t think I’d look sexy if I wore something I didn’t feel comfortable in either tbh. Maybe it’s time for men and women to stop judging others by their appearance, it really is rather shallow.

I wear them cause I'm lazy

I have leggings for running only. Otherwise I'm in jeans even when it's the height of summer .

I'll wear sports leggings out sometimes but never your normal cotton ones, you really have to have a great arse and find a good pair which aren't all see through to pull it off.

How is a 95% cotton garment different to a nylon one? Seriously? Your somatosensory system must be very badly damaged if cotton and nylon feel the same to you. I wear both tights and leggings depending on the outfit. I don't hate tights, though I have had a few bad pairs in my time. And tights and leggings don't feel remotely the same. One are mainly cotton and that makes a massive difference.

Anyway I wear leggings for many, many reasons. Mainly because they are comfortable and non-restrictive. But tbh, they suit my shape. I have a decent figure but I'm very short and looser clothing styles make me look boxy. Leggings and nice fitting t-shirts or narrow waisted dresses are more flattering on me than most other styles.

Completely different fabric, completely different levels of stretch, restrictive around the gusset, even as a short person the crotch aims for my knees, leggings don’t roll down, they don’t make my feet sweat, they’re breathable and don’t trigger thrush If I wear them for a few days running.

Is that enough reasons?

I'm mystified why if someone hates tights they wear leggings instead. Leggings are just much thicker tights.

Disagree with this, I think leggings feel much 'bulkier' and don't give a smooth line, like tights do. And leggings have seams. I hate leggings.

I hate leggings on me. They've no place in my wardrobe at all, and I hope they never will.

Wolford tights are amazing, though, and will always be my go-to with dresses in winter.

Leggings are cotton....tights are NYLON! Who wants nylon all over their legs??
