As a child I was fascinated by the name Kevin, Kevin spotting became a family joke and I still enjoy meeting new Kevins to add to my Kevin collection. I've met and worked with some lovely Kevins! Grin

There are some amazing hobbies on here- antique jelly moulds, Wedgwood, chalet school novels. You all have some amazing collections I'd love to see. I don't have the storage for Chalet School novels atm but I want to! My other (fledgling) collection is Hermes scarves.

krustykittens · 22/05/2019 21:53

reapershowler I am getting into customising MH dolls as well! I am not too good at the moment but I am getting better! I love painting my resin dolls and I want to learn how to sew the elaborate costumes I love so much as they are so expensive online and never really what I want. I would love to start making my own ribbon jointed dolls one day.

TroysMammy · 22/05/2019 21:56

Postcards. They must be scenery and not filth and I don't care if they have been posted to me or not. I've been collecting them since I was 10, that's 41 years of postcards. My 9 year old niece has so far refused to look through my collection. Little does she know that she will be left them in my will Grin

ReapersHowler · 22/05/2019 22:14

KrustyKittens I highly recommend Dollightful on youtube she has some sewing patterns on Etsy too and I've used DGRequiem on Etsys patterns too with great success.
It's such a fun hobby with such varying degrees of difficulty depending on what exactly you want to do. I've attached a picture of the first doll I did, her dress was from a pattern by PoppenAtlier on youtube.

DSHathaway I went out with the most gorgeous Kevin for a few weeks as a student and remained obsessed with him through my whole university days

God he was hot!

I haven't seen him since 1996 so he may not be quite so hot now Grin

AbstractConfusion · 22/05/2019 22:41

Violins. I have way too many so I started collecting mandolins instead. I have way too many mandolins so I started collecting banjos instead. I got way too many banjos so I started collecting acoustic guitars instead... Now I have nearly too many acoustic guitars so I'm collecting money to buy a bigger house to put my essential-to-life stringed instruments in. I would love a cello, but I think I know where this may lead...

PintOfBovril · 22/05/2019 22:45

I collect souvenir tea towels. The tacker the better, and even though people take the p*ss, they never struggle to buy me birthday gifts!

babyno5 · 22/05/2019 22:46

@AbstractConfusion I'd love to see your collections! As a lapsed violinist that fascinates me. I feel you must get a cello then a double bass

Recorders.
Fed up of the smirks when they see them standing up in top of my piano.

Shame they are too ignorant to realise that is is a sublime and hugely versatile instrument when played properly and taught by someone who is not a primary school teacher who can't fucking play it. 😡

Rainbowknickers · 22/05/2019 22:57

Scarves I have well over 100
Won’t be me that ends up with a cold neck this winter!

AngeloMysterioso · 22/05/2019 22:58

Teapots. And teacups and saucers and other assorted tea paraphernalia, but mostly teapots.

sweetkitty · 22/05/2019 22:59

Fridge magnets only from places we’ve visited I let the DC chose them so they are very tacky

Stationery - nice pens notepads etc

Cats

Re Kevin’s my neices dog is a Kevin and I know a few wee Kevin’s too

beccy11 · 22/05/2019 23:04

When I was younger I collected pencils and called them treasures Blush

madeofstarlight · 22/05/2019 23:08

Harry Potter stuff and stationary. Literally since I was about 8, I'm 25 now so you'd think I'd have gotten over both obsessions but alas...

madeofstarlight · 22/05/2019 23:09

@beccy11 That's so cute!

JaretsGirlfren · 22/05/2019 23:09

To the posters who paint dolls, what do you do with them afterwards? Do you keep them? I have always fancied customising dolls but unsure what I’d do with it after Smile

IncyWincyGrownUp · 22/05/2019 23:28

I’d like to see the musical instrument collection. My son has just started collecting instruments. So far he has a couple of guitars, a ukulele, a plastic trombone, a clarinet (he hasn’t tried this yet, but it’s there), and is currently eyeing up a violin and a flute.

SerenDippitty · 22/05/2019 23:36

Fridge magnets. Keep them all on the garage fridge. Also Kaleidoscopes and flowscopes.

Sweetdreamer93 · 22/05/2019 23:42

I used to collect condoms. Cadbury’s brought some out.

JaceLancs · 22/05/2019 23:49

No one makes fun that I know of!
I collect Carlton ware
Victorian glass
Antique jewellery

evilharpy · 22/05/2019 23:56

I used to collect tarot cards. I don't read them at all, but have always just loved the artwork. They're all in a box in the loft. I must have about 25 decks, I'll have to dig them out one of these days.

KellyW88 · 22/05/2019 23:58

Can’t afford it so much now but I’m an avid comic book collector, mainly Japanese Manga (have been collecting since I was eleven). Also get the geeky memorabilia when I can.

DH is a huge Star Trek fan and has all of the books, DVD’s, trivia books etc. and he too gets memorabilia when he can.

Friends all think we’re equally childish/daft but they also often comment we’re a match made in geek heaven 😂

cheesenpickles · 23/05/2019 00:01

Fridge magnets here. Dh get one from every place we go and his work travels. We've got quite the collection and some really unusual ones (Falkland Islands etc).

He also hoards collects jackets. He must have over 30 Confused

cheesenpickles · 23/05/2019 00:02

I also used to collect the giant Starbucks mugs from around the world but left them behind in my student flat by accident along with my handbag collection. Sob.

cheesenpickles · 23/05/2019 00:06

Oooh and graphic novels. Grin
