someone starts a word or expression and many mners start using it, it comes a fad, then after a while i=someone will say it's a tossy expression and everyone else agrees then said expression thankfully disappears from mn
said 'getting ducks in a row' is not often seen.

Colour me agreeing with you.

DontCallMeShitley · 22/05/2019 16:55

Posts that start with 'Reader....'

I know it has been used in books, many years ago, but it is bloody obvious that you are the reader if you are reading it, and it isn't a literary work.

When someone is amused by a post and has spat out or choked on their coffee/crumpet because of the hilarity.
Did you did you really?

MyBlueMoonbeam · 22/05/2019 17:15

Natch as in " made with free range eggs natch" 🙄

DHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 22/05/2019 17:19

spitting out, or ROFL...

I absolutely love “ducks in a row”.

Nothing to do with the meaning, there’s just something wonderfully ASMR about it when I read it. It sends a tingle down the back of my head.

So does the word “snack”.

LoudJazzHands · 22/05/2019 17:31

Pack a bag/pack his bag.

I always imagine this being said by someone with a cat's-bum mouth and their arms folded tightly under their boobs.

SouthWestmom · 22/05/2019 18:18

This is mine

Someone posts something stressful and someone puts:

'Sweetheart. Deep breaths. Sit down and just breath. Now, don't do anything but in a while - list of instructions possibly including wanky dictated text or letter. '

Serin · 22/05/2019 18:49

It makes my teeth itch

How is that possible then? Hmm

Girlicorne · 22/05/2019 19:05

Not read the full thread but taking in ironing seems to be the stock phrase answer to any financial woe, big or small!

fecketyfeck21 · 22/05/2019 20:49

boobing the baby, urgh !

Grumpos · 22/05/2019 20:54

Goady fucker.... never heard it before but now love it and say it regularly.

Sorry, wasn’t point of the thread Confused

Freshbreadandbutter · 22/05/2019 20:57

Teeth itch is awful, boils my piss is just ghastly

People who reject any kind of sleep routine for their baby and then moan they have not slept for 2 years 😂

Hollowvictory · 22/05/2019 21:08

I too hate boobing. Simply ghastly

PorterBella · 22/05/2019 21:13

The advice to 'sit him down,' always conjures up a vision of the op
giving the DH a flying kick to the back of the knees.

Ronsters · 22/05/2019 21:16

Someone pushed into the queue the other day and I thought "entitled" and that maybe I should give them a MN "hard stare/glare", that'll show em!

Babysharkdododont · 22/05/2019 21:17

Eleventeen. As in "I've ironed Eleventeen thousand shirts today" or some other such shit. Maybe it was ever so slightly amusing the first time, but now it just conjures up images of a twee little OP, who thinks she's super cool for using a made up word.

Wide0penSpace · 22/05/2019 21:21

Shamelessley placemarking.

Agghhhh it really annoys me for some reason. Just bookmark or follow the thread, or think of a more imaginative comment.

NewPapaGuinea · 22/05/2019 21:25

“Am I the only one insert obvious remark that 100% means you are NOT the only one

Pgqio · 22/05/2019 21:30

CherryPlum · 22/05/2019 21:31

I hate 'I'd tear him a new one'

Star

Sometimes a comment was moderately funny the 1st time. After the 2nd, it got boring.
