To think throwing milkshakes over people is disgusting?

So apparently it’s okay to chuck milkshakes over people we disagree with?

Now, I do not like Tommy Robinson, Carl Sargon, or Farage. However, I think that chucking cold food at them, or threatening to, is pathetic. If you disagree with them, then debate them. Take down their argument intelligently. Chucking a cheap milkshake makes you look like a toddler.

The nature of the thrown substance doesn't matter. Thrown drinks regularly come up on the relationships board. Literally no one ever says, 'calm down love it was just a banana milkshake he threw in your face, milkshakes are lols'

PreseaCombatir · 20/05/2019 16:14

The nature of the thrown substance doesn't matter

Exactly. Ironically, these are the people whose fittest line of argument against the right is that they’re ‘thick’

PreseaCombatir · 20/05/2019 16:15

*first line

Lifecraft · 20/05/2019 16:15

In Germany in the 30s, the Nazis used to arrange attacks on their offices and themselves and blame it on the Jews. False flag is the modern day name, it's quite a common tactic.

It won't be long before Farage has his own people in the crowd to throw milkshakes at him, so he can blame it on the remainers and other lefties.

Are people so thick that they can't see that this is playing right into the hands of the far right.

FFS people...fucking wake up. We have to fight back, but we have to fight smart.

PreseaCombatir · 20/05/2019 16:16

Also ironically, there are very many on this thread who would fit the name ‘facist’

Breathlessness · 20/05/2019 16:17

Well, acid dissolves skin whereas milkshake might ruin a suit so it is relevant what the liquid is.

Evilspiritgin · 20/05/2019 16:18

By the reasoning on here I can now throw milkshakes all over Jeremy Corbin etc because I don’t agree with his and the Labour Party hatred of Jews

Can’t wait

NeverTwerkNaked · 20/05/2019 16:20

Arguments about how to make political points aside, if milkshake was thrown at my son it could kill him.

Our children's generation need to be educated that throwing food could lead to them facing a murder enquiry. See the case of Karanbir Cheema. It's not a funny jape any more.

Papellino · 20/05/2019 16:20

Love the reasoning from some that anyone who isn't appalled by the dairy drama must be a Corbyn fan.

MrPan · 20/05/2019 16:21

Well no - unless Corbyn is threatening to amass a society hell bent on driving a hateful wedge into it's members, threatening your livelihood and your rights to live in the country, and directly discriminate in housing, employment and criminal processes, then no you cant milkshake Corbyn.

NoYo · 20/05/2019 16:24

It does the Remain cause no good imo.

Still, if it gets the Brexit Party more publicity / votes, then I'm sure Nigel Farage will take it on the chin. Go Nigel!

Ivy44 · 20/05/2019 16:24

So your argument is that only Jewish people can milkshake Corbyn?

redcarbluecar · 20/05/2019 16:26

You can throw what you want at whoever you want as long as you’re prepared for possible consequences. I would suggest that Corbyn isn’t quite as unpalatable a public presence as the far right, but many will disagree. As for seeing those you despise covered in milkshake and then laughed at online... well perhaps the head says one thing, the heart another at times. I do take the point that these attacks could be counterproductive.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 20/05/2019 16:28

To those whinging about Corbyn, he's had his fair share of abuse.

Brexit and the far right have turned this country toxic.

Lifecraft · 20/05/2019 16:38

I seem to recall many women in the past posting about how their husbands had thrown food or drink at them, and from memory all the responses were "are you ok/ call the police/ ltb/ he assaulted you"

I don't recall a single "oh ffs, it's not the same as being hit. If he hits you he intends to cause harm, but throwing food/drink is just to mock you"

Lifecraft · 20/05/2019 16:40

"So your argument is that only Jewish people can milkshake Corbyn?"

Or a burger, but not both at the same time. Wink

Whisky2014 · 20/05/2019 16:41

There is no argument. It's not acceptable, it's assault.

cathf · 20/05/2019 16:41

So can we agree that we only support democracy if the result is agreeable?
One person, one vote, unless someone is too thick/blinkered/old/badly educated to vote for the Wrong Thing, as defined by who exactly?
Admitting assault is wrong unless you agree with the assulter is breathtaking ignorance.

MargotMoon · 20/05/2019 16:41

What @SylvanianFrenemies said is absolutely correct.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon was harassing a young man of Muslim appearance whilst surrounded by his cronies. He was in his face and being aggressive.

If you were in that situation you can't tell me that you definitely wouldn't have lost control for a second and thrown a drink at him, OP? Either in self-defence, to gain some space, or as an act of defiance?

Leftielefterson · 20/05/2019 16:44

They are despicable vile human beings but, with that said I still don’t think it’s right to throw things at them. Is it not illegal for one thing? I think stopping to their level is the wrong way to go.

Acts of violence really isn’t the answer. Peaceful demonstrations and debate are the ways to beat these scum.

Gigglinghysterically · 20/05/2019 16:45

Chucking a milkshake over anyone serves no purpose at all. It just shows up the person throwing it for their childishness, their inability to reason and debate articulately. Far better to enter into dialogue and, if you don't agree, just agree to differ. One person's viewpoint is just as valid as the next person's irrespective of whether you agree with it.

For those who think it's acceptable to chuck milkshake over, say, Tommy Robinson, does that mean you think it would be acceptable for him to chuck milkshake over you for holding different views?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 20/05/2019 16:46

Love how you find theowing milkshakes over people more disgusting than tommy robinson baiting an asian man and then punching him in the head.

No throwing milkshakes over people isnt nice. Disgusting?? Barely

What is disgusting is the being a contempt of court, racist, fasist, narcissitic thug who doesnt even use his real name now he really is disgusting

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 20/05/2019 16:48

those who think it's acceptable to chuck milkshake over, say, Tommy Robinson, does that mean you think it would be acceptable for him to chuck milkshake over you for holding different views?

Are you saying tommy robinsons behaviour towards people that hold different views to him is acceptable then???

LakieLady · 20/05/2019 16:50

Are you all really that thick you can't see shit like this just gives them ammunition?

What, like it did for John Prescott and Ed Miliband when they got egged?

I can't see what "ammunition" they got from that, tbh.

NameChangeNugget · 20/05/2019 16:51

What a waste of a Five Guys milkshake.

No politician deserves to be assaulted however odious and vile he is. Playing completely into his hands
