This is hideous

Didn’t Gabrielle actually need the patch though? I might be wrong.

Smellbellina · 19/05/2019 01:25

I think she had an eye problem and the Madam X is all a ruse to wear the patch

LimeKiwi · 19/05/2019 01:26

I don't care, I still love Madonna.

Smellbellina · 19/05/2019 01:28

The gas masks smacked of a naive GCSE project where someone’s insensitivity can be forgiven due to their naivety and age, neither of which apply to Madonna

Smellbellina · 19/05/2019 01:28

I think she’s an A grade twat

Bigfanofcheese · 19/05/2019 01:51

I wonder if it was a technical problem with her in-ear monitor thing and she couldn't actually hear the backing track hence being so out of tune / time? It would be quite hard to sing in tune if not a great singer with good pitch without being able to hear.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 19/05/2019 01:54

There must be something else at play. Lack of rehearsal maybe?

Or only using auto tune on the second part

Or problems with sound (many acts had complained earlier in week)

Or off her face

BlackPrism · 19/05/2019 01:58

@Frazzledandfedup the Palestine and Israel flags on the back of two dancers embracing

TheQuickFrownBox · 19/05/2019 02:23

Most of the singers in the top choirs in the UK are over 60. If you have a good voice you don't tend to lose it dramatically around 60 unless something else is affecting it...e.g hearing loss.

mawbroon · 19/05/2019 02:31

I'm going to be extremely charitable and suggest that maybe she couldn't hear herself properly...

... or maybe she was just shite Sad

mawbroon · 19/05/2019 02:32

Oh, nobody had suggested that when I last read the thread!
It's impossible to sing or pitch an instrument if you can't hear.

DickieDonkey · 19/05/2019 04:35

Totally shit voice and looked shit due to being pumped full of Botox/silicon.

mathanxiety · 19/05/2019 05:31

So the UK came last eh?
Nothing to do with Brexit perchance??
Justaboy

No, it was a mediocre, vapid song, and an unconvincing performance full of cliches.

I may have counted wrong but only 22 of the 42 entrants in the ESC are in the EU.

feelingverylazytoday · 19/05/2019 05:36

She's shit and she always has been shit. She's just being exposed now. She only has herself to boame though because she can't accept that she's past her best and that other performers are better than her.

Bluntness100 · 19/05/2019 07:37

She doesn't have an eye problem, she posts regularly on Instagram, and in candid shots and videos, from home life to rehearsals she's not wearing it and there is clearly nothing wrong. It is indeed part of this Madame x persona she's created.

I think her voice aside, trying to be political at the Eurovision Song Contest is ludicrous. She always wishes to be controversial, but when you start doing it for simply the sake of being controversial it just comes across as being try hard and lacks authenticity.

All in a bit silly. The problem is she surrounds her self at work with a load of hangers on and yes people, and other than her daughter Lourdes, who she is clearly close to, she has not one person round her who would chose to be honest. You can see it, they are all just sycophants.

PumpkinPie2016 · 19/05/2019 07:46

Watched it on YouTube and she was awful!

Out of tune and flat throughout.

Yes, she's getting on a bit but then perhaps she should retire.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 19/05/2019 07:58

Age changes your voice but it doesn’t make you flat.

And yes 60 isn’t so old that you find stairs a struggle. Certainly not for someone who always kept herself fit like she famously does. My mother is 67 and doesn’t struggle with stairs and runs 7 miles a day.

KatherineJaneway · 19/05/2019 08:03

Do you think no one tells her to give it up because her voice has gone? She's ruining her legacy!

Doubt she would listen to anyone. Well maybe her kids.

I saw her on the blonde ambition tour and she was very good. Sad this was such a poor performance. Embarrassing really.

JustDanceAddict · 19/05/2019 08:14

It was excruciating to listen to tbh. Sad, really as she was a massive star back in the day. DD was watching with me and was saying ‘get the auto tune on’.
If she finds stairs difficult then why use in the set? Anyone would with one eye and a cape though!! I doubt I’d fare well and I’m over 12 years younger.

dudsville · 19/05/2019 08:17

I just googled the performance. I've never been a fan so i don't have a grasp on how she normally sounds. I wouldn't recognise her voice of she want singing one of her hits. But it sounded normal for her to me. Boring performance, i put the phone when to brush my teeth during it.

buttery81 · 19/05/2019 08:17

I wonder if she was trying to prove a point with the cape and the stairs, after that other performance where she tripped over her cape and fell?

SerenDippitty · 19/05/2019 08:17

No, it was a mediocre, vapid song, and an unconvincing performance full of cliches.

To be fair this was true of a lot of the other entries, but they still got votes.

Alsohuman · 19/05/2019 08:21

Madonna wasn’t a contestant.

DaisiesAreOurSilver · 19/05/2019 08:22

She has always sounded dreadful A thin reedy little voice with no character at all.

ForalltheSaints · 19/05/2019 08:25

Thank you for making me feel even better for missing Eurovision. Which the BBC should opt out of, and should have done when Terry Wogan died.
