TM has agreed to start the process of leaving office in June. I have mixed feelings and am very worried about the future of this country. AIBU to think this is going to make the situation worse and possibly lead to no deal Brexit?

As for politicians - you could say they should stop making promises they can't and won't keep. But that would be silly. They are politicians after all.

ssd · 16/05/2019 23:46

Why would anyone of sound mind who isn't a millionaire want Boris Johnson as PM?
Turkeys voting for Xmas.

Tillygetsit · 16/05/2019 23:47

Bloody hell. Boris and Trump. What a nightmare scenario. Sad

Walkaround · 16/05/2019 23:54

Of course, Theresa May has kept her promise and negotiated a Brexit deal. It is thoroughly disingenuous of Brexiteers to vote that down in the name of democracy. All democracy dictated was any old Brexit deal, not a particular one, so if they were democratic, they would have accepted it. Isn't democracy shit, that we can vote for something that none of us end up wanting?

puppy23 · 17/05/2019 00:15

I think next weeks elections should be interesting, but I hope people realise that a vote for anyone other than lib dems (or maybe change uk???) or brexit party is a throwaway vote - neither the tories or corbyn are going to do anything but dance around for another 500 years

Tillygetsit

Bloody hell. Boris and Trump. What a nightmare scenario.

I couldn’t agree more, sadly. Sad

boatyardblues · 17/05/2019 00:25

I really wish they’s stop dicking about. Starting to wish I hadn’t paid the balance of our holiday (EU) last weekend. Am glad I paid for our flights (wobbly Tui) on a credit card.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 17/05/2019 05:07

Same creepy fuckers every time

I was thinking the same thing, Quintella

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/05/2019 05:17

@springwalk

Oh bugger off back to Reddit with your portentous bloodthirsty garbage.

Flobochin · 17/05/2019 06:18

@Springwalk

Well said.

What you say is so true, disbelievers are just poor blinkered souls.

Flobochin · 17/05/2019 06:20

@Tillygetsit

At least Trump does what he says he's going to do.

It's fashionable to hate Trump, secretly many people admire him.

StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2019 06:28

Boris is responsible for this Brexit mess yet when he'd got 'what he wanted' and could have gone for PM back in 2016 he was too fucking chicken. He is incompetent, self serving and has delusions of competence.
How does he have the nerve to go this time? He should be a laughing stock

Walkaround · 17/05/2019 06:41

Flobochin - what has Trump actually done?

flameycakes · 17/05/2019 06:49

I see Esther Mcvey has thrown her hat in the ring, I'd rather Boris (and that's saying something!) Gawd help us all!

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/05/2019 06:49

It’s fashionable to hate Trump
That’s a really weird think to say - some kind of conspiracy theory perhaps? Confused

I’d also be interested to know what he’s done.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2019 07:09

What's wrong with Esther? Genuine question, I've barely heard of the woman but if she's worse than boris I can only assume she bites the heads off kittens for fun?

floraloctopus · 17/05/2019 07:11

It's not on the BBC news site as yet but it's pretty much what they said on the Today programme yesterday morning (might have been Wednesday)

GhostofFrankGrimes · 17/05/2019 07:11

Nearly 10 years of Tory rule what have been the benefits for ordinary people and families?

LadyRannaldini · 17/05/2019 07:14

Were I her I would have gone long since, You wanted this dumb situation, you sort it out, see if you can deal with Junker et al.
Everyone pillories her yet no-one had said how they would have done things differently.

StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2019 07:15

Of course it's on bbc news and was last night too

StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2019 07:15

Ah sorry you mean about Esther mcvey

LadyRannaldini · 17/05/2019 07:17

Nearly 10 years of Tory rule what have been the benefits for ordinary people and families?

Not having a crypto-communist government is the main benefit.

Some of us recall the 60s and 70s, beware of what you wish for, when they talk about the 'working class' they don't mean the people who go to work every day.

Trottersindependenttraders · 17/05/2019 07:21

It's fashionable to hate Trump, secretly many people admire him.

🙈🙈 Yep, it’s all about the fashion

Trottersindependenttraders · 17/05/2019 07:24

Remainers, you now only have yourselves to blame for what happens next. You should have been honourable and respected the result as any decent, honest human being would, but you didn’t, and now you have unleashed something far far worse. It’s on your heads

Yeah, cos since we ticked that remain box on the ballet paper we’ve all been really involved in ‘thwarting’ Brexit, what with us all being able to get involved in Parliament an all 🙄
