Posting here for traffic really. I'm sitting in a hospital waiting room having just coming put of my second mammogram in 10 days. I was called back for extra images because they found some calcifications in one breast. I'll be called in for an ultrasound shortly. Bloody terrified. My dsis has just come thru breast cancer. Wonder am I next.

Hand hold op. I'm with my mum currently who had a growth removed from her breast on Monday. It was benign but they took it out anyway. It was also spotted on her mammogram so hopefully it's the same for you xx

Another handhold here. Are you having the procedure done today or will you go back another day?

Home at last! The looked after me so well. It took a good while because the team had to literally try a few different angles to take the biopsy. I'll never complain about a smear test again. Absolutely nothing compared to a mammogram! Last year was my first and I was still breastfeeding at the time so I was quite a big bigger. Not quite so well endowed anymore so it was quite uncomfortable this time round.

How did it all go for you @madasamarchhare?

OP posts:
madasamarchhare · 16/05/2019 17:09

I have just got home. They are happy it is a bad abscess and there’s nothing more sinister going on. I was lucky not to need a biopsy but I agree the mammogram is quite awkward. Hope you are ok justhavingabreak

MrsMozartMkII · 16/05/2019 19:54

Just when will you get the results?

Mad good news indeed.

JustHavinABreak · 16/05/2019 22:48

My biopsy sample has to go to the lab and the team will meet about my case next week. I've already been given my appointment for next Friday to see the consultant surgeon again. Hopefully this is all just a rather large storm in a very small teacup but I'm bricking it. Feels like I have the longest week ahead of me. Thanks everyone for keeping me company today.

You are so brave & strong! Imagine how many women might read this and decide to go get something odd checked, or finally schedule a test! Best wishes for good news next Friday.
