He’s not a man of the people- he’s one of the elite. He’s a wealthy ex broker who wants to privatise the NHS. He has earnt a massive salary as an MEP but barely turned up. He’s a con artist who is actually pretty racist and unsavoury.

Am tired of seeing him on TV - he cares nothing for the poor of this country. I wish he would go away never to be seen again.

The problem with forums is they tend to settle with an opinion of the majority of posters, so people with an opposing opinion tend to be quiet for fear of being shouted down.

So I'm going so say it,

I like him.

I trust him way more than the conservatives, whom I have voted for since the early 90's.

I like Jeremy Corbyn as a person and admire his principles however I think him unelectable.

Teresa May is probably the worst PM we've had in years, although I appreciate she has had an unenviable task.

When you look at what Nigel Farage has put himself through for 25 years, the hate and threats from those who oppose him, why would you do it if you didn't believe in it?

Politics these days seems to be picking the party you despise the least, and with this in mind the Brexit Party have my support.

longwayoff · 14/05/2019 09:16

You can call that democracy, one if you like your democracy bought and paid for by a bunch of anonymous donors and influenced by a dodgy, global, social media campaign. I call it some thing far more reminiscent of the politics of 1930s europe. There's plenty of archive film, familiarise yourself and see what it was called then.

Alsohuman · 14/05/2019 09:17

Why would he do it? How about an MEP’s salary and expenses for doing fuck all?

Langrish · 14/05/2019 09:18

chocolategivesmehives

Yes! I was laughing so much I had to slow the car right down.

BasilTheGreat · 14/05/2019 09:27

I will vote for Farage. Love him! Grin

Stripyseagulls

  1. Please can you give some examples of what makes you think Nigel Farage is a fascist?
  1. What age do you think people should lose the vote? And should this extend to other areas of public life too - political office, membership of political parties, influential positions?

Put himself through it? 😂😂

Because, in spite of what the UKIP publicity machine liked to spin about his successful career as a broker, a myth that will no doubt be perpetuated by UKIP Light, he was (I am told by people who worked alongside him) bloody dire at it and knew he would have been found out eventually either through incompetence or, allegedly, coming back to the office from lunch legless one time too many.

He had to find another role that would accommodate his ego and megalomaniacal personality. To be handsomely paid whilst doing absolutely bugger all for it was clearly an added attraction.
A free loader, gifted gab-wise, who’s extremely good at duping gullible people. Perfect CV for a politician.

QuizzlyBear · 14/05/2019 09:32

I hate him. Actual hate, which is rare for me. He promotes division, peddles hatred and makes a career out of small-minded bigotry.

I’ll direct you to Exhibit 1 (which doesn’t include his MEP salary or expenses).

£493k for media appearances to yr ending May 2018.

To wish Nigel Farage would fuck off to the far side of fuck
longwayoff · 14/05/2019 09:37

In UKIPs earlier days, when they still had Nige, he appointed a particularly boorish Education spokesman, name escapes me. This fool was being interviewed about policy and was asked how UKIP would find university studies. "All students will receive a free education, no fees" Really? How will that work then? "We will ensure that only Really Clever People are allowed to attend, which will cut student numbers ". Still laughing many years later.

Helmetbymidnight · 14/05/2019 09:54

Ross Hawkins: so which bit of European law, administration or bureaucracy is stopping us from doing something you would specifically like to do to address problems in education and child poverty?

Mike Green: (silence.......) I.....I haven’t gone into the detail of legal ... specific laws but what I do know is that we’re more hampered by laws that are being put in place by people who aren’t elected, you know I don’t see how the EU are helping.

I heard it - it was brilliant. The silence felt like it went on for ages. What a numpty. So typical.

Langrish · 14/05/2019 10:03

Yes, it is, absolutely typical. So why, oh why, do so many people allow themselves to continue to be suckered by these buffoons? 🤯

LysistrataLady · 14/05/2019 10:07

YANBU
We need to catapult this cunt into space!

WalkingDownMadison · 14/05/2019 10:10

Usual spiteful Remainers.

True democrats should want to honour the referendum result.

I'll be voting Brexit Party. Farage has stuck to his original insights on EC political corruption. That's more honest than any of the others.

WalkingDownMadison · 14/05/2019 10:14

The fact that he has had to put up with such despicable personal abuse, as shown on this immature OP thread makes me support him more.

ContinuityError · 14/05/2019 10:25

That will be the same Nigel Farage MEP fined €40,000 for mis-spending public money in office then?

Pot, kettle, etc etc.

Alsohuman · 14/05/2019 10:29

Apparently his popularity, on the whole, is among older men. Women, particularly younger women, detest him. Interesting piece about his appeal on Women’s Hour just now.

longwayoff · 14/05/2019 10:35

O dear Madison. You're in for a sore awakening. Anyway, since you're here, I expect you're a fan of "WTO rules" and wish to embrace them asap. Would you be kind enough to explain them to us unenlightened folk?

SilverySurfer · 14/05/2019 11:34

I hope all the name calling makes you feel better but it will have zero effect on those who vote for him and his party. I've never voted for either but don't have the hysterical hatred for him that some appear to have and I'm not with the majority on here who are left wing remainers.

Oh and you can fuck off with your ageist comments.

longwayoff · 14/05/2019 11:43

WTO elections anyone? So looking forward to it replacing the elected European Parliament. Yay democracy! Hurrah.

ForalltheSaints · 14/05/2019 11:47

Disagree with his views, some of his friends, will never vote for him.

If Labour had been an opposition and the Tories not so focused on positioning for the next leader, he would be a marginal figure. They must share some of the blame for the level of votes the Brexit party will get on May 23rd.

outvoid · 14/05/2019 11:47

Just had a flyer through for Brexit party. I live in a small town where the majority of people are pensioners. Large vote for leave here so I suspect the Brexit party will receive a fair few votes Sad.

Can’t stand the smarmy lying bastard.

SaskiaRembrandt · 14/05/2019 11:48

There's absolutely nothing wrong with hating him. It's a perfectly normal reaction to someone who wants to profit from the destruction of the country's economy, and is working to ensure that happens.

Thunderwing · 14/05/2019 13:03

I listened to him being interviewed on LBC this morning - a woman called up to challenge him and he was rude, obnoxious and dismissive. Although that appears to be his standard response to anybody who challenges him.

I'll never understand the appeal tbh. There are people who say that they couldn't possibly vote for Labour while Corbyn is in charge, but they'll happily vote for the BP with Farage in charge Confused

areyoubeingserviced · 14/05/2019 13:13

Totally agree. YADNBU
I have had enough of him tbh.
He is just making his supporters look stupid
I am convinced that this man doesn’t want to leave Europe. He loves receiving expenses as an MEP, loves the attention., loves being ‘anti elitist ‘ which is a joke as he is very wealthy and is part of the elite
He couldn’t give a shit about the working class.
