How much chocolate do you eat?

How much chocolate do you eat on average every week? I spent years eating 3 bars per day and finally whittled it down to 1 bar per week for a few months. I was losing weight and my IBS got a bit better.

Im starting to self sabotage and slip back into my old ways though. WHY do I do this to myself?!
I found quitting smoking easier than cutting my chocolate intake down.
How much do you eat and do you crave it regularly?

Rarely to be honest, I can take or leave chocolate. Crisps are more my thing!

YessicaHaircut · 13/05/2019 14:14

I love chocolate, but am quite fussy about the type I eat - generally only buy chocolate with 85% cocoa or above. I’ll have a couple of squares of that pretty much every evening and always really enjoy it!

FudgeBrownie2019 · 13/05/2019 14:16

Generally none. I don't buy it as I know I'm greedy and would eat it just for the sake of it, but it's not a favourite food or weakness at all.

Pringles, on the other hand, I could live on. And they're so far removed from food that they don't even rot, but I don't care, a love like that comes once in a lifetime.

Around half a bar a day.. so about 100 calories. It’s my favourite treat after wine but I’m watching my weight

megletthesecond · 13/05/2019 14:18

Couple of times a day.
I had a Frys chocolate cream with lunch and I've got a mini vegan choc pud for tea.

banana64 · 13/05/2019 14:18

None. Since they started using palm oil I can't stomach it. I have ibs and it literally makes me sick

cookiechomper · 13/05/2019 14:19

When I'm being good and sticking to my diet I won't have any or will have a low calorie hot chocolate. When I give in and have some I end up having loads. It's like I can't have a little bit because once I've got the taste for it I always need more.

underneaththeash · 13/05/2019 14:20

None. Don’t like the taste.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 13/05/2019 14:21

I’m a chocolate lover and have found it easier to eat it on moderation if I buy bigger bars or boxes of chocolates. It sounds counter-intuitive, but if I buy a Wispa or a Mars bar, I eat the whole thing without question. If I have a slab of Galaxy or a box of Roses in the cupboard, I can eat a few squares or a couple of chocs and put the rest back. It gives me the taste I need and it makes sense to safe the rest for another time. If I ate half a Mars bar, I’d look at the other half thinking ‘It’s not really worth putting it back in the cupboard’ and then eat it two minutes later Blush

Lllot5 · 13/05/2019 14:23

As much as possible Smile
I’m trying to save it for weekends but if I buy it can’t leave it alone.
I dream about it sometimes

bobstersmum · 13/05/2019 14:26

When we have it in, then I eat far too much! Can easily eat two bars a day. So I've stopped buying it.

bagpiss · 13/05/2019 14:36

Very rarely, I've never been into chocolate very much, probably Christmas I think I had a bit of Toblerone.

SurreyisSunny · 13/05/2019 14:37

Daily, I’m addicted.

lilabet2 · 13/05/2019 14:39

One bar each night usually! I did get into a habit of eating multiple Mars ice creams per day (only 140 cals per bar though) but I feel better if I limit it to one chocolate bar/small bag per day.

Actually I find Maltesers last longer than a bar so I try to have those when I'm trying to be good (but not too good!).

ANewDawn10 · 13/05/2019 14:45

I actually hate chocolate. I might have a small slab over an entire year.

bigdecisionstomake · 13/05/2019 14:48

Daily for me but I try most days to really limit it to a small amount after lunch e.g. 5 galaxy counters and a small amount after evening meal e.g 2 squares of dark chocolate. My problem is that if I don’t set myself a limit I could pretty much just snack all day on it and I know my weight will creep up quite quickly if I do. High days and holidays I throw caution to the wind and eat as much as I like however - just in the interest of balance!

shumway · 13/05/2019 14:48

Not often. Only if someone else buys it for me really.

MustardScreams · 13/05/2019 14:49

Not a lot. I’ve still got Easter chocolate from last year!

Cheese on the other hand.... every minute if I could.

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/05/2019 14:49

I hardly ever eat it, can't remember the last time, cheese is my thing, eat some most days and always have several types in the fridge

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 13/05/2019 14:49

Too much! 2 squares of lindt 85 or 90% dark a day and an options hot choc on a good day. What ever I can snaffle on a bad one Blush

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/05/2019 14:50

Ha MustardScreams Grin

Ratatouille76 · 13/05/2019 14:50

Far too much hence why I now have high blood sugar and am no longer allowed chocolate!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 13/05/2019 14:51

We get a Hotel Chocolat box every month and eat most of it between us. Very occasionally eat some other chocolate or chocolate flavoured thing.

DramaAlpaca · 13/05/2019 14:51

Very little & if I do it's very dark chocolate. Half my Easter egg is still in the fridge, taunting DH. I'm just picking at a tiny bit per day.

EssentialHummus · 13/05/2019 14:54

Chocolate as chocolate, never. But I love choc ices in summer, and occasionally a choc chip cookie or pain au chocolate. I have a much closer relationship with crisps.
