Do you ever want to put "Fucking LOL" as a reply to a Facebook selling item...

...when they are asking a fortune for a load of shite?

Or posting a picture of a grotty item and saying "need gone. Could do with a clean."

Or asking £1 less than what they actually sell for, brand new.

I really want to type "LOL, fuck off!" On them.

But I can't because im a total wuss and I care what people think of me. Fuck sake.

“Plenty of life left in it”. Take your own shit to the tip!

jarhead123 · 12/05/2019 18:01

Yep!

I“Plenty of life left in it”. Take your own shit to the tip!*

YES. I think exactly that.
Fucking good luck with that love. Next think you'll be messaging a man with a van for after run to the tip...

"Easily fixed" translates as "I just want it gone because it's not easily fixed at all".

My absolute favourite was a woman selling a £20 voucher for M&S for £20. People offered under but she would not accept any less than £20. Why would anyone go to the trouble of collecting a voucher when they could just go to M&S and spend the cash?

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 12/05/2019 18:10

Whenever they put "just needs a wipe down" I think "well just give it a wipe then, you sloven.".

I recently saw a bike advertised as perfect condition "brakes just need repairing, which any good bike shop will do for 10 pounds". Get them done then, before trying to sell at full price!

Mammyloveswine · 12/05/2019 18:10

Ha Ha i use the free pass it on sites quite often and cant believe the shit people take..i posted a rusty ruined table and someone snapped it up in about 10 mins! Saved me a trip to the tip!

I find some people are also ridiculously cheeky. I had a beautiful white dressing table and only wanted 70... loads of interest and had it sold pending collection. Someone messaged "would you take 20 as its for my daughter?" Sorry no its sold. "Huh you won't get more than 20!" I actually got 80 as the person buying it was so chuffed!

I find people overprice certain items ridiculously i.e prams. Some hold their value well (the latest bugaboo models) but then the older models (ie 10-12 years old!) people still try and get 100s!

MountPheasant · 12/05/2019 18:12

YES. all the time.

A woman recently posted a ‘lightly used’ pair of sandals from a well known brand, Amazon were selling them new for £5 less than she was asking.

I was so close to posting the link as a reply I even pasted it into the comment box but I chickened out.

People are idiots!

TrashPanda · 12/05/2019 18:14

There's someone on a mums' group from where I used to live and she posts that she has lots of DVDs or cuddly toys for sale, 50p each. This has been posted every few days for at least the last year. I have literally never seen anyone respond in any way but she still persists. Surely the storage of them for the last year and constant posts on Facebook is worth more in space and time that she's asking money wise Confused I always want to reply 'nobody wants them, take them to the charity shop/tip' but I don't because I'm a wimp Grin

Stylemebabyonemoretime · 12/05/2019 20:16

A few weeks ago I saw a second hand wedding dress for 1/3 of the price it was bought for. Which does not sound too bad but the dress was very clearly from the 80s.

There is a guy who posts in local groups I’m in selling some history dvds for quite a bit. Only collection. And he’s not close to the areas the groups relate to. He always says “no comments saying try gum tree” and is really rude, everyone who comments then gets tagged and “read the post” Confused

AndOutComeTheBoobs · 13/05/2019 06:33

@trashpanda that's actually a bit weird

Yes! It is disgusting and hilarious what some people try to sell

FabulouslyGlamourosFerret · 13/05/2019 06:44

Yes, yes and yes to all the peeves on here!

Giantsbane · 13/05/2019 06:44

Haha yanbu selling pages are a great source of entertainment!

BlackCatSleeping · 13/05/2019 06:46

All the time!!

Kids shoes, lightly worn. They are utterly falling apart.

Mattress, good condition. It had a huge stain on it that looked like wee.

Childseat, used for 8 years. Needs washing. Yeah, it looked like it had been pulled out of a swamp.

Brand new, 5 pounds. It had a poundshop label clearly visible on it.

blackcatclocks · 13/05/2019 06:48

I saw someone selling half a tub of used sudocream the other day 🤢

lyralalala · 13/05/2019 06:52

There's a woman on our local one selling a kids Ikea bed for £95 that Ikea sell for £85. Apparently it's a bargain as Ikea is 'ages away' (less than an hour, and is probably where the buyer would get the mattress from)

Stiffasaboard · 13/05/2019 06:53

I saw one on our local group that was about ten bottles of opened suncream with ‘factor 2-15 most have over half left in the bottle’

Wtaf? Half used suncream, who knows how old. Ewwwwww.

bellajay · 13/05/2019 06:55

I laugh when they put ‘no time wasters’, as if someone is going to look at that and say ah well I won’t take the piss on this occasion then, I’ll go find someone that wants their time wasting...

MrsJackRackham · 13/05/2019 06:55

A woman on my local site advertised a pair of designer shoes for£200. Said that she was willing to negotiate but wouldn't take less than £195 😃

Kitsandkids · 13/05/2019 06:55

I really wanted to comment on a post the other day where a child’s toy was being sold that should have certain bits to make it work properly. Someone commented to ask you if those bits were there and they replied ‘no. Sold as seen.’ Why bother trying to sell something without vital parts? Who would want that?!

IceRebel · 13/05/2019 06:59

Kitsandkids I've seen similar. Someone was recently trying to sell pop up pirate with no swords. Granted it was only 50p, but you can't actually use it. Confused

BookWitch · 13/05/2019 06:59

There is a woman on our local FB group who has been trying to sell a huge job lot of old outdated cardmaking stuff - think gold lettering stickers and frilly lace stuff to stick on things. She has even tried to make out it would be great for someone who wants to make cards to sell. She posts it about every three weeks or so, won't consider splitting into smaller lots and wants 300 quid (because she paid over 600 quid "if you add it all up'') - I am desperate to say "No one wants it- give it to a local kids club or old people's home"
