....to think that this is a new low in the Meghan Markle Debacle

Up to now I've been fairly neutral about Harry and Meghan. I'm not a royalist, im a bit of a republican, but I like to see what the royals are up to, and like a royal wedding. The family rows, extravagant baby shower, all the rumours....I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, i was pretty indifferent. And i liked the way she was shaking up the royal family.
However, this sickened me a bit. Using an instagram post supposed to benefit mental health charities to flog her rich mate's £900 a night hotel/retreat. Its such a blatantly tasteless and crass thing to do I think its shocking. Welcome the new Fergie.

She works for the British Royal Family - not the US. She'd want to figure out which side her bread is buttered.

Gentlemanwiththistledownhair - so you only believe anything you read in the Guardian?! My God - that's quite worrying. Why not read a broad spread of papers and then research and come to your own conclusions. It took me about two minutes to verify the facts in that story

I understand wanting to give your friends a shout out, but this was the wrong platform. It's supposedly an endeavour to highlight mental health charities.

Crikey - it's really worrying how credulous some people are. Hence why the friend probably wanted her non-registered or regulated pretendy mental health business stuck in there with mental health charities to legitimise it. It's amazing how many naive dopes people will believe that anything MM does or is associated with is 100 percent wonderful

I doubt Meghan is running her IG account at the moment. I don’t think their aides and PF people are doing a great job and this post was I’ll-advised. It’s unethical, tacky and not overly helpful for everyday people with MH issues.

I’m from an immigrant family and am not racist and from the little I can gather about Meghan she appears to really want to use her title and status to do good in the world which is admirable. I do think though that she and Harry need much better advisers with a grip on what’s appropriate and a handle on how their actions are likely to be viewed by the public.

I mean she had a whole monetized blog and her Insta was just one big undeclared #ad with freebies left right and centre. She had paid partnerships and everything!

And it's becoming clear that that quid pro quo is extending to the new IG account. I certainly expect the couple to be gifted a yoga vacation in return. It's the least the lady in question can do.

I don't think they've gauged (her and her PR person) the British public well at all.

They want to be celebrities, a power couple with a brand. They also recently wanted to separate from the control of Buckingham Palace. This also comes off the back of them insisting CBS network also attended the photo call and timed for her friend who had just spent the weekend with them getting the exclusive. There is a pattern emerging. I don't know why they don't just become private citizens.

MM is joined at the hip to her husband Prince Harry. It's not a pop at MM. Nor has her race anything to do with the price of spuds.

The two of whom won’t have a patch on the advisors used by the RF so I’ve no idea why they wouldn’t just use one provided by them.

I get the impression Harry surrounds himself with people who say what he wants to hear. He needs some kind of veteran royal advisor, surprised the Queen hasn't stepped in more although she did veto the separation from Buckingham Palace.

I get the impression that Harry is utterly besotted by her. I have a feeling she rules the roost. It's hard to know, but some of his choices recently would seem to come from her camp than his. Maybe she's what he needs, but the British public won't necessarily be too impressed.

Apparently someone behind the scenes has just in the last couple of hours edited today's Sussex Instagram post to change the spellings from US to UK.

Of course since it thousands of screenshots, it was noticed instantly.

So it seems somebody is worried about the Americanization of their account. Enough to literally edit the American tone out of it.

CBS sent a pool camera, which captured footage that'll be distributed amongst other US networks @Bluestitch. This is quite a common practice and, like it or not, there is a lot of interest in the couple Stateside. As for the exclusive with Gayle King, I'm not sure that ever happened except in the imagination of one of the tabloids.

From what I read it isn't usual for an American network to be specifically invited. Also Gayle King is the morning anchor for the time the pics were released, had just spent the weekend with them, is making a programme for their first anniversary and is a close enough friend to have been at the baby shower. The impression many are getting is favours for friends. Whether that's a fair view or not they need better advisors.
