Who is James Charles? (I've looked on twitter but am none the wiser)

Make up artist, from what I've gathered is that people are coming forward with stories of him behaving inappropriately. Unless anyone knows otherwise?

The hoo-ha is apparently about him 'harassing' straight men to try and sway them

My daughter worships him, she feels sorry for the massive nosedive in subscribers he ha had over the last few days but my understanding is he charged people $500 for a meet and greet and did nt show up with no reasons or refunds given?? If this is true I have zero sympathy and he deserves to lose all of his subscribers. If I failed to show up for my work commitments I would lose contracts and therefore income so it should be the same for "famous" people.

My DD’s mentioned this today re his subscribers but I wasn’t sure what was going on really

I haven't seen anything about him failing to show up for the $500 meet and greets to be fair. The major issues seem to be with him pressurising supposedly straight men for sex and threatening their careers and agreeing to a marketing deal with the main competetor of one of his friends/mentors companies.

He has always struck me as very manipulative so I’m not surprised this day has come.

I watched the video Tati posted (because I have no life) and I think she gave him what he deserves, he sounds awful.

He’s an awful money grabber and so is Jeffree. I have no sympathy for him. Exploiting people’s sexuality is just disgusting. He specifically targets straight men. It’s wrong on so many levels

i started to try and watch one of the apology videos but got bored as it seemed very long.

I dunno. these things always happen. One minute someone is celebrity darling, next, they do something stupid and theyre evil incarnate. Usually this happens after one of my kids has bought the merch. All of these youtubers are dicks imo, and none of them are any better than the others

No it’s not the DM alone it’s pressuring young men who are perhaps confused or feel they are straight because he finds it really really a turn on and exciting to ‘turn’ straight men and he’s made a big thing out of it

Theres like 9 megathreads on reddit about it, I've followed tati for years as I'm a makeup enthusiast. Shes lovely and never gets involved with drama so was quite shocked to see her video. It's very well put together and explains alot of things including how her and husband helped make his career.

There's a video on youtube of somewhere in Australia, he turned up nearly 2 hours late somewhere and did a Q&A for 7 minutes, lol, money well spent for some people.

I'm a fairly recent subscriber to Tati's channel and I must say that the "Bye Sister" video was beautifully done. The drama on YouTube at the moment is quite amusing.

It’s confusing on that front but Tati says he threatens to ruin them so I imagine even if they consent he may be using it against them in some kind of power hold

So!!?? Is that really what that article is about!!

No one should behave inappropriately or pressure people but I don't think the above is doing that.

This is being discussed in Feminism chat at the moment because of the contrast between men's recognition of their own boundaries, and the shouting down of women who complain about the pressure lesbians are placed under because of the so-called 'cotton ceiling'.
