About dispute with neighbours

We don't get on well at all with our neighbours. We usually ignore them however today they really annoyed me so my partner went to talk to them. The male in the couple was throwing small amounts of water out of his window onto his parking space, unfortunately he wasn't being that careful and some of the water ran onto our parking space too. Luckily it missed my car. My partner then went into my garage (the neighbours live in a flat above our garage) and the neighbour continued throwing the water out despite the fact he must have known my partner was out there.

My partner then knocked on their door several times. I was watching and I will admit he did knock pretty hard but I think it was understandable that he was angry given he could have got water chucked on him.

The neighbours didn't answer so we left it but am not sure what to do now. My partner wants to knock again but I want to call the police as it might possibly count as an attempted assault. I know that sounds a bit extreme but I've had to call them before when my daughters saw my neighbour looking up at them in their in the bedroom so it indicates a pattern of harassment. WIBU to call the police or should I let my partner knock on their door tomorrow?

Best thread ever!

Rockmysocks
I got stared out by a bag of potatoes in my own pantry once. Eyes out on stalks so obvious case of harrassment. Police didn't want to know.

OMG I thought you were exaggerating but I just took a potato out of veg rack and its staring was blatant, blatant I tell you. I called 999 and was told they were all busy tracking down a killer. Hardly comparable to be stared at by a spud - surely they've got their priorities wrong?

This happened to me once.

My husband melted after being hit with a bucket of water and my car disintegrated leaving behind only the steering wheel.

To this day i keep the bucket and the steering wheel as a reminder of that sad sad day.

SilverySurfer · 14/05/2019 13:59

the saddest thing I've ever read on here storm

RIP your DH and car Flowers

I am so sorry to hear about your tragedy Flowers

I hope Hollywood will gather the fund to make a movie to celebrate those you've lost and warn the survivors to ensure no such thing ever happens again

SilverySurfer · 14/05/2019 14:37

Great idea for a movie, who do you fancy to play your DH storm? I think finding someone to play the steering wheel will maybe take someone a bit special, not that your DH isn't special. Hmm, is the steering wheel made of wood? If so I can see Steven Segal in the role Smile

Neighbours are terrible, OP. Every time I go out of my front door, my neighbour's cows stare at me and moo. He won't do anything about it and neither will the police. I absolutely fumming about it, fumming!

DoubleNegativePanda · 14/05/2019 16:35

The irony of an OP posting about the serious damage that water might do to her biscuit car

This has really made me laugh at work, I've had to pretend to choke on my coffee. I'm feeling slightly assaulted. I may press charges.

ChocChocButtons · 14/05/2019 17:21

Lol you wanna report your neighbor to the police because he threw water on his drive and it almost hit your car??

You know cars can go in car washes so I think it would be ok!

Witchtower · 14/05/2019 18:55

This should have made the mumsnet daily hot threads.
The demon comment had me in STITCHES!!!
After a very difficult weekend this thread has really cheered me up.
Thank you OP!

Bluntness100 · 14/05/2019 19:16

Is it this one or the bin one that's the reverse?

I think the bin one is the reverse. It was the ops bin, and she refused to pay and now and her, her husband and the kids are on some mad vendetta because they asked for thirty odd quid or something.

I think she's done a runner from the thread. Probably staring out the nets to see what other atrocities the neighbours are committing.

TooManyPaws · 14/05/2019 19:19

Don't be silly Bluntness. They don't have nets otherwise the daughters wouldn't have been stared at by The Man.

Bluntness100 · 14/05/2019 19:21

Yes that's true, 🤣

PentreBachCymraeg · 14/05/2019 19:31

Do you call the police on the rain? Hmm
