To think this country has the best weather?

I honestly feel like the UK has the best weather. Not too cold, not too hot and almost always manageable. I am baffled by people who complain. I used to live in California and the heat waves could be intense, with very expensive air conditioning bills and I don't miss the burning sensation you could get when you touched a black steering wheel or sat on hot leather of a car that was parked outside. I have also spent time in Lapland and lived in Minnesota, so I know what it's like to step outside in to a cold that is painful.

AIBU to think there is no reason to complain about the weather here? I love it!

Well of course it doesn't have the best weather. You would have to be socially brainwashed to thing we have the best weather.

Agree, love UK weather. Don't even mind the grey skies. I couldn't live anywhere hot it would be torture for me.

I love how we get 4 seasons in one hour like last weekend. As long as the winter isn't too grey and damp or the summer too hot then all is good. I can't breathe if it's too hot, go bright red and sweat a lot. Not good. 22 and sunny all summer, with enough rain for the crops/plants would be perfect for me.
Australia would be my idea of hell.
I always marvel at how green our countryside is. I live in the leafy outskirts of Manchester on the edge of the Peak District and every day I admire the green of the hills. On a sunny day the contrast of the blue sky against the green of the hills is amazing. I'll never forget driving through some part of California in my 20s and there was just scorched yellow grass. It was awful. The forest and lakes were lovely though. Apart from the bears. See! No dodgy wild animals or creepy crawlies here either! Although we get the odd snake or wild cat reported. I love our country and our proper weather.

Motheroffeminists your argument fell over at '22 degrees and sunny' al summer.

That happens every 10-15years, here 😊

And to be fair, globally, 'last weekend' in Britain, wherever you are, doesn't represent '4 seasons in one hour'...

You didn't get -30 wind chill and 10 foot of snow; 3 foot of rain; hailstones like tennis balls; 120km/hr wind; 45 degrees C;... did you?

It just alternated between 'a bit of a blow, a couple of sharp showers, and sunny periods in between'. Yes?
