Was having a conversation with a friend this week and she's been banned from her local swimming centre for arguing with the receptionist. The receptionist didn't believe her daughters age and said that she was trying to get her in cheaper Confused resulting in the manager banning her for life!

It made me think of the time I was banned from Santa's grotto 15 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can't go into too much detail because it's extremely outing!

Have you ever been banned from somewhere and why?

Lighthearted 😬

babyno5 Flowers. it's all relative really. Got one of the abusive people sent to jail but I'm currently in therapy for the third time.

Flowersintherainandsun · 11/05/2019 20:01

And**

babyno5 · 11/05/2019 20:04

@SunshineCake I'm so glad you got some justice. I hope therapy is helping. I've been in therapy twice and had separate sessions of EMDR which really really helped me.
Sending hugs xxx

SunshineCake · 11/05/2019 20:12

babyno5 I have also had EMDR. It's amazing stuff isn't it? Hope you're okay now ? I've also had DBT and are having a Different type of therapy now ,

WonderTweek · 11/05/2019 20:14

Not been barred but I did get kicked out of Lush once.

WellGoshDarnIt · 11/05/2019 20:18

Got banned from the FB page 'DIY on a budget' for taking the piss out of someone's glittery stairs and wall decals, (Live, Laugh, Love, natch) Grin

buttermilkwaffles · 11/05/2019 20:18

Ryanair would not let me board a flight because I did not have a return flight booked. After waiting for an hour they said they were closing the desk in 6 minutes and unless I booked a return flight within that time I was not going anywhere. So I had no choice but to book and pay for a flight I did not want or need to get on the flight I did want. (I planned to leave the country I was flying to by train, having done the same journey before I knew you could only buy train tickets at the station not online, despite explaining this to them they refused to budge).

AngryAngel · 11/05/2019 20:26

WonderTweek, how do you get kicked out of Lush? I find the staff there so scarily cheerful and nice. It freaks me out, tbf.

babyno5 · 11/05/2019 20:26

@SunshineCake it's bloody amazing! It was like a switch was flicked. I remember the therapist saying you'll either be euphoric or very tired afterwards. I popped into the garden centre on my way home and must have looked like a mad woman-sniffing all the plants and smiling at everyone 😂.
I'm in a good place now. I hope you get to that place too xxx

babyno5 · 11/05/2019 20:28

@WellGoshDarnIt that page is hilarious 😂. I'm on it for the entertainment. Yesterday someone asked if you can paint a carpet 😂😂. Apparently it's a thing 🤷‍♀️

mamaoffourdc · 11/05/2019 20:31

Brownies! 😳

TheInvisibleMrsCrane · 11/05/2019 20:33

My Dad was banned from the Gardeners Question Time Facebook group after somebody asked how stop cats going in their garden and he suggested a shot gun. Apparently they are a group of animal lovers (as is he) and they thought he was being serious.

Comefromaway · 11/05/2019 20:33

My sister in law got banned from the bar of a local sports club. It was my works Christmas party. It’s a family firm and at the time we used to have between 60-80 people for a 3 course meal and disco. We’d been going there for years and I was in charge of organising it. At the end of the night we were waiting for taxis. The bar managers father (who also worked there) was getting very drunk and quite aggressive to sail telling her she had to leave. Take note our company had just spent a LOT of money that night and she was just sitting quietly at a table until her taxi arrived.

She ended up throwing her drink over him and he barred her.

The following 3 years they kept phoning me to see why I’d stopped booking our Christmas party there. We’d also spread the word around to other local companies of what had happened. Last I heard they had become very run down, wouldn’t be surprised if they closed soon.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 11/05/2019 20:42

I’ve been banned from several Facebook groups for upsetting the locals. One was a group that was meant to be promoting healthy eating but was actually encouraging girls with eating disorders. 😔

Squirrel26 · 11/05/2019 20:49

Not barred, but e-harmony told me that I was ‘one of the small proportion of people who wouldn’t benefit from their online dating services’ and wouldn’t let me sign up to their site. Or explain what it was in my questionnaire answers that made me so unsuitable for having a relationship. Blush

AmeriAnn · 11/05/2019 21:03

I've found my lost tribe.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/05/2019 21:07

MrsCrane that is priceless

SalemSpellman · 11/05/2019 21:08

@Stravapalava subway city?

WonderTweek · 11/05/2019 21:12

@AngryAngel I was doing some linguistics research for this company and at the time they were focussing on dialects. They asked me to go out and photograph stuff with dialect words for a presentation/project thingy and I thought "Lush is a dialect word!" I popped into one of their branches and asked if I could take a photo of one of their big signs. They immediately got a manager involved who then firmly asked me to leave. I asked if I could have one of their free leaflets as it still said "Lush" on them, but they refused and escorted me out. Grin I really can't see what the big deal was but that was almost a decade ago and Lush seem to operate differently these days. (Although the constant "HI FRIEND!" from the staff started to get creepy so I've stopped going there now.)

Vinorosso74 · 11/05/2019 21:20

I and a couple of friends got barred from the Old Five Bells pub in Northampton for playing on the kids play area. We were drunk students and my friend got stuck on the slide (made for a child not size 12 hips) we were trying to help her......

Alfr · 11/05/2019 21:26

I got banned from a Facebook group (set up by/for people who believe that turmeric cures everything) for posting curry recipes whenever people asked what turmeric was good for.
The founder of the group messaged me and said I could be un-banned if I said sorry, and promised not to post any more curry recipes.
I said sorry, and posted a casserole recipe instead.
They banned me for life...

Ahardknocklife · 11/05/2019 21:29

Got banned from a premier league football club for fighting at half time. And a few pubs bit thus wasn't my fault... in fact I was innocent in everything Grin

fatimashortbread · 11/05/2019 21:32

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/05/2019 21:34

Kicked out of our local Weatherspoons, well I left before the rest of them got kicked out but not banned.

Banned myself from the local village shop but to be fair she has banned most of the village anyway

kidsmakesomuchwashing · 11/05/2019 21:34

I got barred from a very scummy bar when I was 18 - I don't actually know the reason why!
