To think that my DD is broken?

I noticed something really odd today, something I can't unsee!
My DD, 3, puts her trousers on before her socks!!

AIBU to think that this is absolutely crazy, and to question if she's even mine

Socks always last.

What type of sock I wear (ankle sock, trainer sock, thick sock, etc) is dependent on which shoes I put on, so I need to know what shoes I'm going to wear in order to put on a sock.

But to know which shoes to wear, I need to have picked and put on my trousers first! And then I'll decide on a pair of shoes that go with my trousers! So I don't know which socks I'm wearing until I'm already wearing my trousers!

I think I've confused myself, but I think what I'm saying makes sense!

I don't wear socks around the house, nor do dc. Just before we go out we put on socks and shoes.

No one in our house wears socks around the house - we're barefoot and smug with our underfloor heating.

So socks are put on last thing with shoes, if we're not all wearing flip flops!

I get my entire outfit out before I get dressed, so I already know

Socks first. It's harder to pull them up when trousers are already on.

My MIL has underfloor heating but I still wear socks at her house. What if someone is making toast and they've got crumbs on the floor and you step on them? Makes me cringe personally. But then my hair falls out a lot and I always find random hairs on the floor even though I clean, so I'm not risking it.

Work trousers socks go on first because I wear knee socks and it's easier but in general I put them on last.

I’m just impressed your 3yo can put her own socks on - if I ask mine to put her socks on herself, she acts like I’ve asked her to split atoms.

@Kapeka that is what slippers were made for - I wouldn't want crumbs stuck to my socks either!

Then you know the floor needs sweeping! It's a perfect system!

My husband and son drive me mad as they don't put socks on until they are putting shoes on but they bring the chosen pair downstairs with them and then lose them so there is a last minute sock panic and they rush upstairs for a new pair and the original pairs appear at odd moments in odd places!!

I bet you don't separate kit kat fingers before eating them either.

I cannot unread this now and it is disturbing me greatly - people don't actually do this do they?! I don't eat Kit Kats because - Nestle - but if I did I would NEVER NEVER eat them without separating the fingers.

Sock last, definitely last. And vdbfamily yes, we have the same trauma in our house with lost socks but it is usually DD and DS rather than DH.

The order in which I get dressed depends on what I'm wearing.
If I'm wearing normal jeans, I put socks on last. If I'm wearing super skinny jeans then I have to put socks on first.

I do bra and knickers in whichever order I find them, then socks, then rest of clothes. Socks last is definitely weird

I quite agree. My daughter does the same. Drives me bonkers for some strange reason. I’m assuming your DD wears leggings whereby in my eyes you put socks on first otherwise they end up looking like a crazy person.

But you should send her on a training course. Start them young on the proper dressing order.

If I'm wearing socks then they definitely go on before trousers.

It smooths out your foot so it makes trousers much easier to put on.
