to be super puzzled why my elbow stinks

what on earth...... I am clean. I am always clean. However for the past few days my right elbow (the crook of it) has been omitting a god awful stench. I can't wash it off. It is foul.

It smells like feet and rot and awfulness. There is no broken skin, it just looks like a normal elbow. WTF.

why is this happening? anyone got any ideas? soap isn't doing anything!

Crying at this thread. Hope it's back to be being a wellbow this morning.

Well. I had a shower this morning and it didn't stink.

The kind of smell you describe is usually caused by bacteria. I would honestly go and see your GP and if s/he is flumoxed ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

I would really be worried about something festering under the skin. If there is no obvious sign of anything on the skin but it still smells like a festering wound then you need to get underneath the skin checked!

Could you not pop into a pharmacies and see if they can smell it and suggest something?

I'd try anti-fungal cream like athlete foot cream , then TCP or tea tree stuff then GP if that's not an option.

I want to sniff my elbows now, but the faff of rolling up my cardigan and shirt (and sitting at my desk) are stopping me.

OP, if your hubby doesn't want to do the sniff test I may have to play the LTB card and tell you to give him the elbow
Could it be from the inside of a spring jacket that has lingered in the cupboard over the winter?

Though seriously I would take 'Smellbow' to the doctors, in case you have an infection or something.

I don't want DH to smell my elbowpitt it's too rank. Like I said it smells like the stuff you get under your toenails, vinegary meatyness. awful.

It has to be bacterial or fungal. I'll pop out for some TCP later.

Do you normally smell your elbows? How did you know it first stank? I wonder if the crook of your knees smell too...

I love the smell of the stuff I get out from underneath my toenails. But I do recognise I am probably in the minority.

I would ask the pharmacist for advice. Would be worth trying some antifungal cream to see if it helps.

I'm scared to go near TCP now as I used to overuse it whenever I had a graze and "burnt" a lot of skin off my wrist with it once.
