to be super puzzled why my elbow stinks

what on earth...... I am clean. I am always clean. However for the past few days my right elbow (the crook of it) has been omitting a god awful stench. I can't wash it off. It is foul.

It smells like feet and rot and awfulness. There is no broken skin, it just looks like a normal elbow. WTF.

why is this happening? anyone got any ideas? soap isn't doing anything!

If you don’t get your DH to sniff your elbow tout suite the stench might be unrecoverable and the only resort will be to amputate

GreytExpectations · 08/05/2019 21:34

In case anyone is wondering my elbow crook smells fine.....

Op, that is very odd. I suspect something fungal so may be worth getting it checked or perhaps Dr. Google if anyone else has had the same? (This option of course has its risks of totally convincing you you're dying from a smelly elbow!)

Calloway · 08/05/2019 21:36

I think the OP would rather nonchalantly appear with a missing arm than ask her DP to take a sniff.

mimibunz · 08/05/2019 21:38

Smellbow I lol’d at this. Grin

Ticklingcheese · 08/05/2019 21:39

Can we have smelly pictures? 😁

Both dh and I have sniffed, nothing extraordinary. All mns have been sniffing places, where they have never sniffed before, i suspect

ImportantWater · 08/05/2019 21:39

It might be a sebaceous cyst under the skin. They smell absolutely foul, I speak from experience. I don’t know if you can get them there, I have had one on my back and my cleavage (nice).

Teachtolive · 08/05/2019 21:39

Could you try washing it daily with something like hibiscrub for a week and see how it goes?

LabradorMama · 08/05/2019 21:39

Smellbow!!! Grin

samsamsamsamsamsam · 08/05/2019 21:41

My smellbow is smooth as a baby's bottom. There have been no abrasions, there is no discolouration. Haven't had any cuts recently. and I don't wear a watch. Its definitely the crease.

I'm not sweaty or anything. Just got a minging elbow. Don't have any hydrogen peroxide but I do have makeup remover and nail varnish remover. Would that work?

samsamsamsamsamsam · 08/05/2019 21:42

Just got a minging elbow.

Sorry but this sentance truly made me laugh! 😂😂

ladyflower23 · 08/05/2019 21:44

Smellbow Grin this has to go in classics. I've checked mine and they're fine. You must update if you find out the cause of smellbow. I'm so intrigued!

Lucked · 08/05/2019 21:45

You DH has to smell it, also he can sniff around the back and make sure it is just the crease

SecretWitch · 08/05/2019 21:45

Teachtolive I read that as scrub with hibiscus 🌺 I thought what an exotic idea. I would rub mine with plumeria.

madeofstarlight · 08/05/2019 21:48

No advice, sorry! but this thread has given me a good laugh!

user1474894224 · 08/05/2019 21:48

So sorry about your smellbow. (Although might have just leaked a little bit of wee laughing at this - and of course smelling my elbow.)

horizontalis · 08/05/2019 21:48

TCP.

Might not cure it, but at least you'll have a different smell to moan about Grin

AudacityOfHope · 08/05/2019 21:50

Right. I've just sniffed both of my elbows.

Neither of them smell. But DH looked up from the football for a second so it was totally worth it anyway. Grin

Minkies11 · 08/05/2019 21:50

I've just Googled smelly elbow crease and found a Web page that just waffles on about all the bacteria that lives on/in our bodies and how fantastic it is to have a bacteria 'ecosystem'. Useless!
Sorry OP no useful advice whatsoever 🤐

Tolleshunt · 08/05/2019 21:51

Tea tee oil should kill any bugs and cover up the smell with something just as horrible.

OhMsBeliever · 08/05/2019 21:51

I'm pleased to report that my elbows do not smell.

I can't believe I've smelled my elbows.

Ticklingcheese · 08/05/2019 21:51

Do you have any food preservative? Should be very good for athlete's foot, so maybe it will work for athlete's elbow?

DontVisitMe · 08/05/2019 21:52

Own up. Who has taken the username Smellbow already?

Thatsnotmyotter · 08/05/2019 21:52

I second hibiscrub as a good place to start!

(Yes I have sniffed my elbows to check)
