I’m confident he won’t be officially known as Prince Archie.

I was not expecting Archie

Horrendous. I'm a big old royals-lover but that's a shite name.

Personally I don't like either name but he is very cute (as are all babies)

Report
outvoid · 08/05/2019 16:56

So tasteless.

As the mother of a Harrison I’m quite impressed (it’s not a popular name on MN!).

Didntwanttochangemyname · 08/05/2019 16:56

I think it's a lovely name. I'm not that fussed about the royals, but no new baby deserves vitriolic bullshit from anyone.

You are unreasonable for starting yet another thread on it. At least three others started before this one.

I know not everyone subscribes to the doctrine of needing a proper name for the BC but I very much do and I hate that it's a nickname as his official name.

In as much as I care about any stranger's baby's name. Which is quite a lot if I'm feeling judgy!

Bleurgh.
The money here was on Alfred or Philip.

I'm surprised at Harrison. Is there a reason for it?

Naff

Well, the main thing is that the parents like the name. Just as with any other new parents and wee babe. Others are bound to have their opinions, but they really don't matter. Even if you are part of the British royal family.

Both awful and I'd think the regardless of royal status.
Kate and William chose much nicer names.

Hate shortened names as full names, and surnames as first names, but I'm a traditionalist. Their choice

I don't like the name Archie but it's refreshing that they've chosen to call him a name that they like, and not just chosen from the usual list of 'acceptable' royal names.

Harrison as in Harry's son? if so it's a bit naff
