It's not like you all have not been wondering

OP posts:
beanaseireann · 08/05/2019 17:19

So Charles doesn't get a (name) mention ? Or Philip ?
Interesting.

CripsSandwiches · 08/05/2019 17:20

Harrison = Harry’s Son

Why did I find that so funny?

DeadWife · 08/05/2019 17:20

I do know. Been here a while Smile.

WitchyBollox · 08/05/2019 17:20

Oldunit that really made me laugh, they could have got that in there somewhere I reckon, or Daniel or Sean Grin

FannyOMalley · 08/05/2019 17:21

It’s awful.

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 17:21

I suppose Kate and William had to have traditional names as George will be King one day ( if we still have a monarchy by then of course)
These two can do what they want really as regards names.
Having Harrison is inspired really.

NicoAndTheNiners · 08/05/2019 17:22

Harrison as in Harry's son? if so it's a bit naff
Word of advice, if you ever find yourself in Iceland (the country not the frozen goods store), please don’t repeat that.

I wouldn't repeat it in the frozen goods store either! Grin

RaptorWhiskers · 08/05/2019 17:22

A nickname as a first name? Absolutely shocked. Now people are going to think that’s acceptable 😩

LaurieMarlow · 08/05/2019 17:22

I’m all for avoiding nicknames, but let’s faceit Archibald is a fucking terrible name, so if they like Archie, that was the right thing to do.

Sounds like something from only fools and horses IMO but I'm fairly traditional with names. I expected something traditional but with a modern middle name or modern shortening.

IamaBluebird · 08/05/2019 17:24

I like the name Archie. Reminds me of Cary Grant.

DoneLikeAKipper · 08/05/2019 17:24

Just when you thought that MN couldn’t get any worse on the Sussex’ and their personal choices that seem to annoy every pure Royalist and Republican to the point of daily froth, they’ve now given their child a name that has you all wetting yourself in excitement to tell us all how bloody awful it is.

It’s a name. A perfectly acceptable name that many people have. Get the fuck over it, they were never going to call the child ‘Spencer James Prince Of The People Diana Reincarnated Lets Hope He’s Not Too Brown For The Post Brexit People Of Britain Windsor’

Was there a need to point out Harry’s paternity with Harrison? It sounds like someone has just found out on a trip to England how these surnames originated and made a really naff attempt to use it! Thank god harrys middle name isn’t jameson😂.

Archie is sweet but as a nickname. Hate not using the full name.

floraloctopus · 08/05/2019 17:25

Archie Harrison Shock

OK then.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 08/05/2019 17:25

FWIW, my kids have pleb names too, but I'm not royal so it's ok.

AllesAusLiebe · 08/05/2019 17:26

Their choice, of course, but I’m not sure. Archie will be fitting for a small child running around, but as an adult maybe not so.

I still can’t believe he was just born two days ago, either. They’ve lead the media on so they can have some peace and quiet. 😂

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 17:26

Maybe Archie will want to be an accountant? nothing wrong with that job at all! He wont be in the running for the ' big job' so its all relative.
he may well want to take up acting ? that would be great too.
i do hope that his other grandad gets to see him soon as well. Although i suppose thats a conversation for another time!

DryHeave · 08/05/2019 17:26

I suspect they chose to avoid family names because it would just kick the hornet’s nest about Meghan’s dad.

grumiosmum · 08/05/2019 17:26

Oh good. Now people can stop slating MM's choice of footwear & criticise the choice of names instead.

Asta19 · 08/05/2019 17:27

My Dniece gave birth not long ago and called her son Archie! Although given the closeness in age she will probably forever more now have to defend herself of being accused of copying Meghan!

Queenunikitty · 08/05/2019 17:27

Love it. And no title, brilliant. Very good move.

Nanamilly · 08/05/2019 17:28

It’s Prince George known by his parents as Archie?

MintyCedric · 08/05/2019 17:28

So Charles doesn't get a (name) mention ? Or Philip ?

Good...pair of belligerent old wanker.

I think it's quite nice as names go, really like Harrison and is he's not going to have a title the facts it's not really traditional is neither here nor there imho.

Wonder if Meghan is a Riverdale fan?
