Mm is such a hypocrite

"we want privacy and time as a new family and to be as normal as possible"

parades 2 day old baby in castle....

I often wonder if MM would have married Harry if he'd been just a dashing British Military officer, not heir to the British throne.

I really believe Kate would have married William if he was just an helicopter pilot and not second in line. They met at uni, shared a house, went on grocery runs and fell in love - with all its ups and downs.

MM wants to really show off the castles and all that. Actresses love the spotlight. I hope she continues to make him happy.

grumiosmum · 08/05/2019 16:29

Bluerussian they don't live in a castle. They live in a cottage in the grounds.

Quite a big cottage though ...

CaptainBrickbeard · 08/05/2019 16:30

I wish the word ‘flattering’ could be excised from or collective vocabulary. Without fail, it means ‘makes a woman look thinner’, the implication being that this is what we must strive for in all of our clothing choices. The idea that people call the dress on a woman two days post-partum ‘unflattering’ is ridiculous. She doesn’t look fat or wide, she looks like she just had a baby so she has a deflating bump. That’s not something to hide or ‘flatter’ or skim over, it’s normal. It’s not shameful!

I flinched at the heels. I cannot imagine walking in heels after giving birth. Whether she and Kate freely chose heels post-birth or not, it must be so uncomfortable.

The weird attitudes to Meghan that I’ve seen on here make me wonder about people - not just the frothers in a frenzy of surrogate-fake-baby conspiracy theorists who are obviously just idiots, but the nasty, snide comments constantly aimed at her. I don’t understand what she’s done wrong. It is really hard not to assume a lot of the critics are racist.

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 16:30

What kind of world is this where we think it's acceptable to criticise a woman for her choice of shoes? Theresa May got it for her bold taste, and now Meghan's getting it too.

If you mean me, I'm NOT criticising her for her choice of shoes. If anything, I'm criticising fashion standards. In a sane world, no woman would feel the red for four inch heels, two days postpartum.

grumiosmum · 08/05/2019 16:31

CaptainBrickbeard see my earlier post.

Wearing heels isn't necessarily uncomfortable if you don't have to carry a lot of weight.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 08/05/2019 16:33

Panic ?

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 08/05/2019 16:33

@Hylobates- Thank you :). I've been meaning to by an Essie blue for a while so I suppose I can thank then for reminding me!

@RubberTreePlant- I think Queenie likes them in dresses hence why they wear them more often. Although I think the perception of the Royal Look is SO ingrained it will take a while for trouser suits to emerge, I think. Also I don't think women really wore trousers to look smart before Elizabeth ascended the throne. Upto about Queen Mary, women didn't really wear them much at all so no Queen would have worn them. QEQM also probably wouldn't have worn them to look smart or as part of her royal look. Sounds silly but it would be a big change! I don't own a single pair myself, either!

grumiosmum · 08/05/2019 16:34

Not directed at you specifically RubberTressPlant lot's of others have made the same point.

MM should feel free to wear whatever she wants. If she wants to wear heels for whatever reason, that's up to her.

You've just effectively called her insane for her choice of footwear. If that's not a criticism, i struggle to see what is?

The80sweregreat · 08/05/2019 16:34

I hope they are happy and we dont have all the rumours of a divorce or affairs ten or twenty years down the line. I am fairly cynical about most marriages these days as i've seen too many go down the shooter and it is hard going too - some people just throw in the towel too quickly sometimes and others stay when really they should split.
nobody is perfect, but having a big bust up or divorce in the public eye with the press on your tail, must make it much harder all round. Let s hope it doesnt happen, but then , if any of them end up divorced, none of it would surprise me either to be honest! Most of the royals are pretty ' high maintance' i bet.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 08/05/2019 16:35

Oh . Yes he is a cute looking little baby , but most of them are to be honest .

Not a Royalist but a safe birth and a safe arrival is always good news.

jollybird · 08/05/2019 16:38

Really lovely, the little family look amazing and M&H look so happy.

BonnesVacances · 08/05/2019 16:39

Gosh, some PP showing what kind of people they are! Hmm

I think it's great that they allowed for some private time alone with the baby, but are so chuffed and proud, as many new parents are, that they couldn't wait to show him off.

Anyone that's comparing them with W&K, get a nasty grip of yourselves! Hmm

Quintella · 08/05/2019 16:41

get a nasty grip of yourselves!

Oh, matron.

noodlenosefraggle · 08/05/2019 16:41

but the nasty, snide comments constantly aimed at her. I don’t understand what she’s done wrong. It is really hard not to assume a lot of the critics are racist.

Yes. All aimed at her, not Harry, who was born a Royal! She's a hypocrite. She's an attention seeker. She's demanding. The only thing Harry has done wrong is fall for the wrong type of woman apparently! It couldn't possible be that she wanted a home birth but had to go to hospital or that they wanted privacy but had pressure put on them to do the photocall. It couldn't possibly be that they decided things as a couple. She is always the root of all evil.

BonnesVacances · 08/05/2019 16:42

It's a baby. He's never going to have to worry about his education, healthcare, housing, safety or paying the gas bill. The vast majority of babies born in the UK will have to worry about these things as they get older.

He is however going to have to worry about the mother of his child being picked over post-birth by the media and parenting sites. Hmm

Maldives2006 · 08/05/2019 16:42

How insulting “actresses love the spotlight” what about actors or are they doing it for the art??

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 16:43

You've just effectively called her insane for her choice of footwear. If that's not a criticism, i struggle to see what is?

No I haven't.

I said "in any sane society...".

SleepingSloth · 08/05/2019 16:44

Lets hope it doesnt happen, but then , if any of them end up divorced, none of it would surprise me either to be honest!

Strange thing to say. I don't think any divorce comes as a surprise when almost half of all UK marriages end in divorce. I don't really think that if they divorce in 20 years people can say 'I knew they wouldn't last' but I'm sure they will if it happens. Some people love other people's difficult times, as afterall, it makes them feel better about their own miserable lives.

coldsyrup · 08/05/2019 16:45

just hate the way she walks. dont think its her natural walk Confused
nothing is natural about mm
the baby is too cute for words!!!

englishdictionary · 08/05/2019 16:46

OMG they called him Archie Grin

AmeriAnn · 08/05/2019 16:47

I don’t understand what she’s done wrong. It is really hard not to assume a lot of the critics are racist

I think you have to be a bit of a 'racist' to even think that.

MM rubs me wrong because she's older than him, divorced, American and a B actress. She also seems to be a show off and in it for the prestige. The castle back drop in these photos is more proof for me. As far as her appearance goes - she's beautiful and she knows it

I say this as an American who has a bi-racial son.

I remember when when people were called 'racists' for being critical of Obama - over anything. It's very troubling.

Kpo58 · 08/05/2019 16:47

Isn't Archie the name.of a Yorkshire terrier? I do hope that Archie is a shortened version of something else.

RubberTreePlant · 08/05/2019 16:47

Not directed at you specifically RubberTressPlant lot's of others have made the same point.

MM should feel free to wear whatever she wants. If she wants to wear heels for whatever reason, that's up to her.

You seem to be struggling to distinguish between criticism of the prevailing beauty/fashion standards and criticism of an individual shoe wearer.

I'm not criticising MM at all.

PortiaCastis · 08/05/2019 16:47

What a nice name love it

outvoid · 08/05/2019 16:47

*Parades 2 day old baby in a castle

Well it wasn't going to be in a terraced council estate was it?!*

Grin I fucking love mumsnet.
