I know it’s been done before but not for a while, and I love reading everyone’s little pleasures.
Today mine was hanging lots of brightly coloured towels on the line. Loved just looking at them gently blowing in the breeze. Loved the smell when I brushed past them too. Smile

Let my elderly guinea pig out on the lawn for a free run about with the dog and to nibble some grass. He's 7. He is too aggressive to keep with other guinea pigs so it's so nice to get him out and interacting with the dog and exploring.
Best guinea pig I've ever had. I love to see him doing his thing!

Had dinner outside in the garden with DS2 and DH.

@NewYoiker

Well done, how was it?? You've inspired me to try....

NewYoiker · 15/05/2019 22:34

@Gravelface it's going well! I did a 2 mile run yesterday in 30 mins :)

RoseMartha · 15/05/2019 22:49

A 40 min walk on my own was perfect. Not amazing on the scenic front, some trees in distance. But the air was nice and it was sunny but not too hot.

BBInGinDrinking · 16/05/2019 09:50

My usual routine while a DC is at a 45 minute evening class, is to dash off in the car to dash around a convenience store, dash home, put food in the oven to be cooking, and dash back just in time for pick up. Instead, yesterday I went for a walk with another DC, just us, for 40 minutes. We did a round walk on a riverbank, didn't see another soul, just bluebells, wild garlic, forget-me-not, ducks and ducklings, geese and goslings, and fish coming up for insects. We didn't even really talk, just enjoyed being together, the fresh air, gentle exercise and birdsong.

My first cup of tea of the day always makes me smile.

Gravelface · 16/05/2019 11:14

@NewYoiker Wow! I have been really struggling to stay in my (first ever, much needed!) diet and am dying to try a jog but felt too nervous. Am going to try it later!

My happy thing was clearing the garage in the sunshine and selling bits and bobs on FB. Satisfying

I had a really nice chat with a colleague during playground duty whilst sharing some of my birthday cake and fruit.

BBInGinDrinking · 19/05/2019 16:45

TeaAndBisquits · 19/05/2019 17:15

Baked a banana cake. Will enjoy it with a cup of tea and some peace and quiet when the kids are in bed!

largecoffeeplease · 19/05/2019 17:15

Cleaned all my make up brushes. Soft soft soft!

pointythings · 19/05/2019 17:50

Had a proper hot bath. Made flapjacks. Did laundry. Cut the grass. Made home-made pizza. Gloated over Eurovision, just a little (I am Dutch).

A good day.

woodcutbirds · 19/05/2019 17:55

Had a lovely breakfast with Dteens. Made them cheese and ham baked croissants which they love and a big pot of coffee and just sat, chatting until one had to go off on a field trip.

Taught a lovely pupil some last minute GCSE stuff which he really got.

Started reading a new novel. I've just this year got back into reading. I'd forgotten how lovely it is to lose yourself in a make believe world.

About to lay the table for Sunday dinner outside. DH has done a roast.

BBInGinDrinking · 21/05/2019 15:24

Had a cup of tea with my feet up and a cat asleep on my lap - a natural lowering of blood pressure.

Made a pot luck family meal entirely from what was for sale in the final clearance section - pence instead of pounds.

woodcutbirds · 24/05/2019 14:25

Sneakily watched my cooler-than-thou D-Teen in his party clothes, shades and furry slippers Grin bouncing on the trampoline. Not been on it for years but when he thought no one was looking...

I went along as a parent helper on my DD's P1 class trip. I was a lovely day and it made me so happy seeing all their little smiling faces having fun.

TheGlitterFairy · 24/05/2019 16:04

BlueMoon1103 · 24/05/2019 16:07

Every single thing I've done today has given me pleasure. Got up at 6:30 (that was the time I woke) and because I'm on holiday alone, I could get up when I woke, no one to disturb. Sat in the shade until 12:00. Cleaner came and brought clean bedding, a treat for later.

Had a nice leisurely lunch, followed by a glass of wine in a nearby wine bar. Young waitress admired my top, it's my favourite.

Sat in the sun from 2:30 until 5:00. Beautiful and strong shower. Now considering where to eat tonight.

Life, at the moment, is a joy..

Back to reality in three weeks time. Meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy this island, which is a home from home for me.

Retirement can be wonderfull, with the right pension.

My life hasn't always been this good, but the bad times I've had, just serve to make me appreciate the good times I'm now experiencing.

I'm old and sometimes tired, but I'll keep on enjoying my good times for as long as I'm able
