To sneak a McDonald's into the cinema

Would it be wrong to sneak a big mac and fries into the cinema? I usually just take a bag of sweets and bottle of water. I refuse to pay the cinema prices for food. The film I want to see tomorrow is 3 hours long, plus 30 minutes or so of adverts. It starts at 11.30am. Do you take your own food into the cinema?

Who the feck doesn’t vulpine

This is why I go to the cinema on my own during the day.
I can russle, guzzle and fart away to my hearts content because I’ve usually got the screening to myself.

For those that can’t understand why people must eat in the cinema and are seen as gluttonous if they can’t go wit’s all part of the cinema exactly imo. Some people might not get out very often and they want to maximise the experience with some sweet/drink treats. Just because you don’t doesn’t make it wrong. That’s why they bloody sell the stuff there

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 10:15

Vulpine · 04/05/2019 10:17

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 10:20

Vulpine it was a lighthearted joke
aimed at the people who want a oduerless cinema 😂

PamelaX · 04/05/2019 10:21

even the OP has long acknowledged that a McD would be a tad too much...

AzraiL · 04/05/2019 10:23

Our cinema sells burgers, chips, nuggets, hot dogs, donuts and churros, so I totally would.

PegLegAntoine · 04/05/2019 10:23

Wrong given the smell.
Wrong given the impact on your health.

:o

Vulpine · 04/05/2019 10:25

Ah mrsfox in that case fart away Wink

Roomba · 04/05/2019 10:30

My sister takes a MacDonalds meal in every time she goes to the cinema (it's right next door). Staff have never complained or commented (Cineworld). I grumbled about it, but only because it made me hungry! But so does the smell of popcorn and there's no escape from that. It's a big mac, not durian fruit or Surströmming. As for health effects it's none of anyone else's business, surely?

Squeegle · 04/05/2019 10:31

Not the same at all but I had to leave a theatre performance at the interval because the person in front of me was farting unbelievably smelly smells. I did not say anything to them. But I could not stay.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 04/05/2019 10:35

Yes food in mouth, mastication thats the usual way to eat

Open mouth, put food in mouth, close mouth, chew. It’s really a very basic social skill.

InceyWinceyette · 04/05/2019 10:35

In a 3 hour film the McD will be cold by actual lunchtime.

I like to take in a small one-ring camping stove and heat up a tasty fresh snack (bacon butty, etc) and you can even make your own fresh popcorn in a lidded saucepan. So much cheaper than the rip off prices cinemas charge.

feelingverylazytoday · 04/05/2019 10:36

Of course you shouldn't, it sounds disgusting.
I didn't know people think it's ok to eat Mcdonalds and other similar food in a cinema, thank fuck I hardly ever go now, apart from taking my daughter ocassionally.
I think I prefer the old days when you had a choc ice during the intermission and that was it as far as food and drink went.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 10:43

feelingverylazytoday my local cinema sells similar food so there’s no reason too assume it’s frowned upon

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 10:44

I imagine the points to eat the McDonald’s before actual lunchtime,eg on arriving at ones seat

outvoid · 04/05/2019 10:45

Cinema nachos stink way more than a McDonald’s so YANBU. I think people who buy cinema food are fools, it costs more than the actual tickets (which are expensive enough).

MrsFoxPlus4 · 04/05/2019 10:48

outvoid i said this too! And the hotdogs they smell funky

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 10:50

mn there’s a research cohort just waiting. Hyperosmia and tutting is there a correlation?

Sakura7 · 04/05/2019 11:00

I don't understand why people don't just eat the McDonald's before going in. If you want to have food in there, bring popcorn, crisps or chocolate. That's the traditional cinema experience, not having hot stinky meals while watching a film.

Also, to a PP, popcorn is nowhere near as smelly as McDonalds.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 11:05

What’s not to understand,it’s food to accompany the movie not food before a movie
That’s why it’s not eaten prior to the movie

GooodMythicalMorning · 04/05/2019 11:05

The smell wouldn't bother me although make me hungry so I might not thank you for that but my big question is how do you eat it and not get messy or do you just got for a small burger you can keep wrapped? I need a table and multiple napkins when I eat maccyD's and the mess is unbelievable. Can't imagine the logistics of trying to keep clean whilst eating a big mac and fries in the cinema.

S1naidSucks · 04/05/2019 11:10

My ears are nearly twitching at the thought of all that chomping and chewing. 🤢

That’s why I don’t go to the cinema when it’s busy. 😬

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 04/05/2019 11:11

Logistics?a polystyrene box and paper box doesn’t require careful consideration
