To have started hysterically laughing...

Today my DH had the snip. I accompanied him to drive him home afterwards While we were in the waiting room I couldn't help but notice that there was only one title of magazine knocking around.

Uncut.

I couldn't stop sniggering and my (already nervous) dh kept giving me "looks" in this super quiet waiting room because I couldn't stifle my giggles. People were staring but I just couldn't stop.

Someone was having a joke putting those in there, right? I have apologised to my dh but I can't stop giggling when I think about it. Grin

At my Grandmas funeral me and my DH got the horrendous giggles at one of the bins which said something along the lines of "in her wet garden". All I can say is, thank god there were tears so we could disguise our laughing 😂 we are inappropriate giggles too with VERY immature minds. We would have laughed at that too OP

MotherOfTheNoise · 03/05/2019 20:48

Hymns not bins!!

weekfour · 03/05/2019 21:22

I often find the radio plays music just to me. For example, my third child was delivered to Madness' One Step Beyond.

In the vasectomy waiting room we were treated to REM's Everybody Hurts.

1WayOrAnother · 03/05/2019 21:25

That would have made me giggle too OPGrin

elliollie · 03/05/2019 21:30

Yep. I can see why you found it so funny.
🙄 to the mean girl posters. No sock puppet name change fail but a definite sense of humour fail from some people...

LittleDoritt · 03/05/2019 21:38

Laughing when you aren't allowed to laugh makes anything a hundred times more hysterical.

MyHomey · 04/05/2019 06:47

That's the exact sort of thing that would have made me laugh! And obviously the sensitivity of the visit would have made it 100 times worse!

Karwomannghia · 04/05/2019 10:18

How weird about the photos! And how did someone else know the photos could only be seen be some! Also good way of weeding out catty posters.
But talking of inappropriate behaviour at funerals, my great aunt died and she was a Roman Catholic nun. She had no less that 8 priests and all the other nuns at her funeral. I took dd as a baby (checked first) and obviously she being a normally quiet thing started getting hungry so I was feeding her snacks. Don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone eat or drink more loudly. Just when that ordeal was over the farted started. Not one, several really long farts, not dd’s usual thing and just under the threshold for ah I’ll take her out. Try not to laugh in that situation!! I was praying for another hymn to mask the noise!
They all said what an utter joy and light it was to have her there after though.

chimichangasoul · 04/05/2019 10:58

Some of these are cracking me up! Dh is feeling lots better now and says that he would have found it hilarious had it not been for the impending procedure. He genuinely thought when he first suggested it that they actually remove them. Confused Though tbh is the guy that when we first started dating we both got tested at the clinic and when they told him all his were "negative" that this was bad and he had HIV.* ~snort*~

Not that STDs are funny but it's quite a feat to get to your mid-20s and be that silly. Smile

The worst case of inappropriate giggles I have ever had was standing outside the crematorium at my aunt's funeral. They were unloading the casket from the hearse when I noticed a bin with a sign saying "no hot ashes." My sister and I both cracked up, and had to hug each other, pretending to be crying 😂

StickyBlisteredAnus · 04/05/2019 11:28

The mistake you made here OP, was to try and post a lighthearted, fun thread on mumsnet in 2019. We don’t tolerate that kind of thing around these parts anymore. 5 years ago you would have had a much better response.

Anyway, I didn’t find the initial subject funny if I’m honest but the thought of you say there giggling to yourself while your DH sits nervously awaiting his OP definately made me smile!

RubberTreePlant · 04/05/2019 12:29

Because this business of photos not loading properly for everyone has regularly happened - and caused confusion - for years.

MyHomey · 04/05/2019 12:35

@chimichangasoul your dh sounds brilliant! 😂

Lungelady · 04/05/2019 12:39

Ex's vasectomy surgeon was a Mr DickGrin

PositiveVibez · 04/05/2019 12:52

We went to a wedding years ago and one of the hymns said something about a purple headed mountain.

Lots of stifled giggles at that.

IrishGal21 · 04/05/2019 13:00

Anyone remember the tv reporter Chris Peacock? Fits of giggles there at mealtimes when he came on and finished a report signing off in a serious tone......................he put the Chrispea together...lol

Karwomannghia · 04/05/2019 13:10

I’ve never not seen photos before though (as far as I know) nor seen that amount of confusion and I’ve been on here years!

cheif · 04/05/2019 13:19

Another one here wondering what "sock puppet" means on this thread

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 04/05/2019 13:20

When my now ex DH was having the snip - the surgeon asked him who he worked for. At the time he was a telecoms engineer and worked for Siemens...

chimichangasoul · 04/05/2019 13:23

A sock puppet is a name change and posting on a thread to try and continue the conversation/support OP/cause drama. Like split personalities.

Well what can I tell you?

Feel free to dream up further weird conspiracies Wink

Karwomannghia · 04/05/2019 13:52

Okay

Karwomannghia · 04/05/2019 13:56

Wow it must be a weird conspiracy because I can see the originals now!
The closest to weird conspiracy I could come to was that maybe it’s usually the android users who can’t see photos and they’re in the minority. Sorry to disappoint.

CheshireChat · 04/05/2019 14:04

Surely there's more android users anyway. I thought it was an app Vs the website thing with the photos.

And I would've found the magazine funny as well!
