I'm not the only one to have called you out.... You really have a stick up your ass today, dont you?

So Bluntness what makes you a "special" internet person and not "some random". Surely its the internet so we are all random?

GreytExpectations · 02/05/2019 08:43

But lol, thank you @Bluntness100 I appreciate the lovely title you've given me. I'll accept it with honour :)

bigbadbadger · 02/05/2019 08:48

My grandma got ‘drunk’ on this because my dB thought it was gin and misinformed her. She said she was ‘tipsy’ and needed a lie down but it was alcohol free! Grin

I guess the difference is I don't go on daft threads, lashing out, and calling people, to quote, nasty bitches, snarky, snide, judgemental, rude and pathetic.

Ott much? 🤣

AndwhenyougetthereFoffsomemore · 02/05/2019 08:54

I quite like it - spice rather than dreadfulpea version. I don't think it replicates gin certainly, but I think it has some of the complexity that a squash doesn't which creates a nicely adult, sipping drink. Yes, it's overpriced, but it's clearly all part of the premium positioning - sure it puts some people off, but I assume worth it from their point of view. I'm amazed so many people are so enraged by it!

Fwiw, OP, I'd also have a look out for the Robinsons mint and lime cordial as another great alcohol free option - it's a gorgeous fresh mojito taste (& whilst expensive for squash, obv not Seedlip prices)

GreytExpectations · 02/05/2019 08:56

Well, if you bothered to read the thread you'd see i'm not the only one who used those terms. Lots of other PPs said the same words- you just seemed the worst of a bad bunch.
If you can't handle being called out then don't be so rude on threads maybe.
No, not OTT but you see that is my opinion which is different to your's and that actually OK because that's how opinions work. HTH

GreytExpectations · 02/05/2019 09:00

Bluntness you literally told the OP that because you didn't think it tastes like Gin that she shouldn't have said she felt it tasted like Gin. Can you really not comprehend how that is ridiculous? Taste is subjective. You wanted the OP to have worded her post to fit your own opinion. How bizarre of a reaction to someone's drink preference.

longwayoff · 02/05/2019 09:05

Christ on a bike! Bluntness go and get a cup of tea and leave these odd people to it. Life's too short. And it IS a bottle of absurdly expensive water. Cheers.

Rosemary7391 · 02/05/2019 09:35

I'm really sad, but not surprised, at the number of variations on "If you don't drink alcohol, you don't get to drink nice things". That's how I end up with sparkling water when everyone else is toasting with champagne at weddings... Remember that for some it's not just when they're pregnant but literally all the time. Sure it's expensive, and this is definitely on the expensive end, but it's no more an everyday thing than a bottle of gin! And regarding the tax - it's going to be produced/sold in much smaller quantities so fewer economies of scale going on there. I for one don't think it's unreasonable and I do quite like it. Never tasted real gin though so I can't compare!

I also quite like "The London Essence" range of sodas... they're not sweet but quite a nice flavour with a little fizz.

That may have been true when it was first produced in the inventor’s kitchen but don’t be naive - it’s now part-owned by Diageo and in every supermarket. The pricing is clearly strategic to position it as a premium brand. It’s the same strategy that Danone use in the pricing of Aptamil. And that is absolutely fine, as long as consumers are aware of this and make an informed decision when they buy it.

Bezalelle · 02/05/2019 09:58

Well, this has escalated!

SolitudeAtAltitude · 02/05/2019 10:12

You might almost think there is some product placement going on, I am now on 2 threads discussing Seedlip..... Grin

No, I do not like it, but it seems some others do. Weirdos Wink

I didn’t realise it was now owned by Diageo. Interesting.

I first came across it a few years ago as a result of a recommendation from someone on the low carb Bootcamp threads.

When you aren’t drinking as a result of trying to lose weight it can be hard to find something nice to drink.

I haven’t seen any fake marketing going on. I have recommended it a few times in weight loss threads.

Bluntness100 · 02/05/2019 11:56

Bluntness go and get a cup of tea and leave these odd people to it.

Sound advice, 🤣

No Bluntness100 you just mocked and belittled the OP and told her she was wrong for liking this. Literally dismissed what she said.

Why people disagreed with her was because she said it smelled and tasted like real gin. It doesn't. No one but no one would think it does

If anyone likes it and it works for them, that's beyond fine

That's fine is it, but yet you wouldn't accept that from OP? You had to tell her she was wrong.

OP said she thinks it tastes like the real thing and she also said she's happy to pay the price for it. Who the hell are you to tell her she's wrong?

Branleuse · 02/05/2019 16:56

if im not drinking and i fancy a g&t, I just have a tonic on its own, or with a small cap of apple cider vinegar

GreytExpectations · 02/05/2019 17:00

Well said @lisamac28 and i agree! its ridiculous, posters are so quick to lash out and belittle the OP just because she likes a drink that they dont, but yet when I call them out on their rude behaviour suddenly im unreasonable? Gotta love the bizzare mumsnet world.

FunkyKingston · 02/05/2019 17:06

Well when someone starts two yhreads to praise a particular drink, it is hatdly surprising that people get a bit Hmm and suspwct they're being astroturfed

lisamac28 · 02/05/2019 17:07

GreytExpectations

Yes it is ridiculous. I said as much to Bluntness last night and her reply was "calm down, no need to cause an argument" just because I gave my opinion. She's allowed her opinion multiple times all over the thread and allowed to laugh at the OP but no-one should dare call her out for it.
