The Torres Natureo de-alcoholised wine is pretty good, and I still drink Brewdog Nanny State even though I’m no longer pregnant. My favourite non-sweet drink is a few drops of angostura bitters in tonic. The bitters are alcoholic but as you literally have only a few drops the amount is negligible.

Why not just have tonic and ice?

rabbitheadlights · 01/05/2019 21:17

Sorry @bluntness I'm not upset people don't like it or whatever but to suggest that I'm "silly" or its "pointless" because there is no alcohol in it bothers me somewhat

OP posts:
lisamac28 · 01/05/2019 21:19

Blimey you're really upset people either don't like it or don't think it tastes like gin. It's not personal. If you like it, and think it does, crack on

To be fair to OP, most of the comments on here are really bitchy and smug...including yours.

Bluntness100 · 01/05/2019 21:20

I'm sorry where did someone call you silly? Someone said the drink was silly, but not you. I really don't understand why you're upset people think it's a bit pointless but if you like it enough to pay twenty six quid a bottle for it, then go for it.

Circeplease · 01/05/2019 21:20

It’s an interesting and refreshing drink but really it tastes absolutely nothing like gin.

AfterSchoolWorry · 01/05/2019 21:20

Confused what's the point?

I'm gobsmacked to discover people drink alcohol for the taste!!!!

😲

Bluntness100 · 01/05/2019 21:21

It's a drink! How can you be bitchy and smug about a drink 🤣🤣🤣

BrightYellowDaffodil · 01/05/2019 21:21

you can all carry on...hiding behind the keyboards

It's an internet forum. What would you prefer instead, a dual?

rabbitheadlights · 01/05/2019 21:21

@cdtaylornats honestly just bored of tonic and lime and soda etc was looking for an alternative

OP posts:
Aberforthsgoat · 01/05/2019 21:23

I don't mind Seedlip but think Cedars alcohol free 'gin' tastes more gin like, in comparison to the actual gin I normally have. It's very refreshing!

Ineedamanipedi · 01/05/2019 21:25

Do you own shares in this OP? Grin I’ve never tried it but as I’m not overly keen on the taste of alcohol and usually only drink it when I want to get pissed I probably wouldn’t buy it. However if you can’t drink booze and you like the taste - go for it!

lisamac28 · 01/05/2019 21:25

It's a drink! How can you be bitchy and smug about a drink

And thoroughly pointless too. Its Simply flavoured water. You'd be better buying a 99 p bottle of something else and adding it to tonic and pretending

OP has already stated she likes the drink, is happy to pay the price...but oh no, you know better don't you?

tattyheadsmum · 01/05/2019 21:27

I really like Seedlip Spice - it's pleasantly bitter (if that's possible), so when you're having an alcohol free night out you don't have to drink sugary drinks all night.

Bluntness100 · 01/05/2019 21:29

Good god.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think I've said multiple times if she likes it to go for it.

Seriously though, calm down, trying to start an argument because people don't see the point in an alcohol free gin that doesn't remotely taste like gin. Or smell like it.

But if the,op likes it and thinks it does she should go for it. She's not going to get many folks who agree with her though. But so what. She likes it, she should have it. 🤣

Tinkobell · 01/05/2019 21:31

It's nice but not £26 nice enough. If you blind fold tested me I can easily tell the difference. Sorry.

shins · 01/05/2019 21:31

www.marksandspencer.com/s/food-to-order/adventures-in-food/alcohol-free-gandt

This is far nice and a fraction of the price.

Double0FeckingBollocks · 01/05/2019 21:32

Well that developed quickly. If you like it, knock yourself out OP. You might want to ease off on the taking offence over nothing pedal though.

Spinnaret · 01/05/2019 21:35

I like Seedlip. Not the pea/garden one so much, but the other two. The flavours are far more complex than a glass of squash/cordial, which I down in seconds. So I will sip and savour it, in the same way I would a G&T. You can usually find it for way less than £26 online.

cdtaylornats · 01/05/2019 21:36

@rabbitheadlights

You could try
Jeffrey’s Yarrow, Rosehip and Elderflower tonic
Thomas & Evans Sparkling Botanical Beverage
Shrb, lime and juniper
Monte Rosso
King of Kefir Chilli & Ginger

Louloubelle78 · 01/05/2019 21:39

Not for me either, starting with the price. I don't mind a flavoured fevertree tonic if I am driving. My pregnant friend ordered seedlip in the pub and I think it was about the same as my drink. Needless to say she was looking on in envy!!

tanpestryfirescreen · 01/05/2019 21:40

It is disgusting- didn't someone post at Christmas that they had been given it it and were going to try and get a refund having tasted it? If you want an alcohol free alternative to gin then just drink an aromatic mixer- such as fever tree Mediterranean.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 01/05/2019 21:40

OP the reason people are a bit sceptical is that they are wondering if you are affiliated to the company selling this product, or stand to gain by people clicking on the link. Unfortunately people have done this before, and it has made people suspicious!

I would have loved a product like this when pregnant...but the price?!

RedLemon · 01/05/2019 21:47

I’ve tried it and I really like it. I put a splash of it in tonic with lots of ice. It feels like a grown-up non-alcoholic drink.
It is expensive so I’m v interested in all the alternatives above. But tbf I’ve wasted a fair bit on pouring half-finished bottles of wine down the drain after they’ve sat in the fridge for a week so I’m still coming out ahead with the seedlip!
