Don’t want to go through with second part of termination!

Superscaredx · 30/04/2019 19:21

Posted on here for traffic mainly but I need help.
I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and decided on a termination (please don’t judge, my reasons are completely valid) Today was the first appointment where I took mifepristone. The next appointment is on Thursday and I 100 percent do not want to go. I regret my decision so much and I don’t know what to do. I don’t even know if you can continue with the pregnancy after taking mifepristone, or what it does to the pregnancy! I hope to God it hasn’t effected the baby but I’m worrying so bad. I really want this baby and if I could turn back time I wouldn’t have took the tablet. Anyone with experience on this or works in the industry...please help? Loads of American website say you can have progesterone shots to try and reverse it..but I don’t know anywhere in the UK that would do that. I am so lost.

I suggested a and e as it may be the quickest way to see a gynaecologist today and get progesterone support
Could a go refer today to a gynae emergency clinic or epau? In OP situation I wouldn’t leave it to chance I’d want a progesterone in oil injection prescription

I have no medical knowledge so cannot comment but speak to the right people. Do not be persuaded to do anything you do not want to do. I hope all goes ok for you 🤞🤞

MollyHuaCha · 01/05/2019 10:09

Good luck OP.

brummiesue · 01/05/2019 10:12

@shamedtotally a&e would not refer to an emergency gynae dept out of hours for this reason. There is absolutely nothing they could do in the night and its not a medical emergency. It needs to be dealt with appropriately in the day by the relevant services not emergency ones. The constant mumsnet cries of 'go to a&e' is so frustrating when its so completely inappropriateHmm

ClariceBeansUncle · 01/05/2019 10:15

The progesterone therapy is completely unproven as far as I can see- I suspect a UK doctor would not prescribe it and OP will be recommended to sit tight and see what happens.

StripeyChina · 01/05/2019 10:53

Just wanted to say I hope you can access some RL advice and support today OP. xxx

differentnameforthis · 01/05/2019 12:16

@bobstersmum - Sorry to ask op but why did you have a scan to discover these things, are you not in the UK? We don't get a scan until 12 weeks here OP was probably considered high risk due to her previous ectopic pregnancy!!

CustardCreamLover · 01/05/2019 12:30

After I took the first pill and went to hospital for the second part I had a scan. The nurse told me there was still a heartbeat which completely destroyed me but she said I could carry on with the pregnancy if I wanted to. So I think there is a chance that you can carry on. Go to a doctors or the hospital and find out. I'm sorry you're going through this. Had I not been coerced into my termination I would have carried on.

FFS @shamedtotally. Just don't have the words for someone who thinks this is appropriate for A&E. Is it an accident? or an emergency?

Next time you are seriously ill and need A&E help, I hope you won't expect it quickly if you think people should clog up A&E with stuff like this.

you can want all you like but I doubt you'd be getting it!

Superscaredx · 01/05/2019 12:43

Update - The nurse from the clinic called me back! She said if I want to continue with the pregnancy then I can. She said the risks for foetal abnormality are low, however I’d probably be at risk for losing the pregnancy at any time. She said but I could also have a perfectly healthy pregnancy! She told me if I don’t attend tomorrow then to book a GP booking in appointment. Reallt don’t know what to do for the best but I want to give this baby a chance Flowers

Positive update - thinking of you XX

shamedtotally · 01/05/2019 12:48

I assumed as the first drug could block progesterone that giving more could help ?
I’ve been given it in pregnancy for low levels and was told it might help it might not but it certainly can’t do any harm so was just suggesting

If it was me I’d be classing it as an emergency as I’d have panicked massively and would want to speak to a gynaecologist ASAP but hopefully OP can access advice and I really hope all is ok and OPs baby survives

ReganSomerset · 01/05/2019 12:49

BertrandRussell · 01/05/2019 13:42

Just think very carefully, OP. Your life hasn’t changed since you made your initial decision, and you felt that was right then. Have you been offered any counselling?
