To ask for your recommendations for romantic / sexy hotels in England?

As the title says. I'm trying to find a great hotel for a debauched night away. Something either very romantic or very sexy. Budget up to £500.

Not keen on places with old fashioned patterned carpets and rugs that could be your Great Aunt Florrie's house!

Ideally in the Midlands / East Midlands but further afield could be ok.

Crazy Bear looks like it could be along the right lines but trip advisor reviews are not great.

Please hit me with your tried and tested recommendations.........

This might fit the bill: www.barnsleyhouse.com/ not too far from the Midlands.

Hotel Du Vin chain have some fabulous rooms
And the bathrooms and showers are to die for
There is one in Cheltenham Birmingham York Bristol and a few other places

Thank you - Barnsley House looks fab, as does the Hotel Du Vin I've looked at. Sadly the room I like there isn't available on the day. They've given me hope that what I want is definitely out there though Wine

The Shankly in Liverpool or The Edgebaston in Birmingham

Cutesbabasmummy · 29/04/2019 18:18

Crazy Bear in Oxfird ain't all that! I would go for Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. Rooms are beautiful- especially the tower and if course the food is outstanding.

TheLastNigel · 29/04/2019 18:21

Crazy bear was full of total liggers that had got a cheap deal from Groupon when we went which puts me off it a bit.
Hassop Hall or East Lodge in Derbyshire. Or The Peacock at Rowsley, also Derbyshire.

Lazybonita · 29/04/2019 18:21

I have stayed in Barnsley House, it’s gorgeous and the spa is amazing and very romantic. We had a gorgeous room with a huge copper bath, it was one of the nicest places that I have stayed.

Rudding Park in Harrogate

namechangedemma · 29/04/2019 19:07

Thank you! Most of these are on the right lines but fully booked for the date I need...

Another vote for Rudding Park in Harrogate. It's amazing.

RuggyPeg · 29/04/2019 19:09

The forbury in reading.

Fiveredbricks · 29/04/2019 19:25

Titanic Hotel Liverpool. The rooms are insane.

MoistMolly · 29/04/2019 19:38

Paradise Hotel, Blackpool. You won't get sexier.

SignedUpJust4This · 29/04/2019 19:42

Recently stayed at hotel du vin in Cheltenham. Shockingly bad. Some nice boutique B&Bs in Bristol tho.

namechangedemma · 29/04/2019 19:45

@SignedUpJust4This oh really?! What was bad about it, if you don't mind me asking?

InspireMyHoliday · 29/04/2019 19:50

Hotel Gotham in Manchester

GunpowderGelatine · 29/04/2019 19:58

Aphrodites Lodge in Bowness
on Windermere (Lake District)

Daffodil77 · 29/04/2019 20:01

If you're not bothered about a spa or the surroundings, the Aviator hotel in Farnborough is nice and luxury. We had lovely food and cocktails there.

Natasha4767 · 29/04/2019 20:03

Another vote for Rudding park we've been twice this year it's amazing. The service is excellent, the spa is beautiful and the food is good too.

SignedUpJust4This · 29/04/2019 20:03

The room smelled smokey. There were cigarette burns in the carpet and sheets. The toilet had pubes all over it and when we enquire about switching rooms due to smell (the hotel was practically empty) they were really rude and unhelpful.

These things wouldn't bother me too much at a Premier Inn but you expect a lot better for those prices.

Atalune · 29/04/2019 20:06

The Pig Inn, Bath

ThanksItHasPockets · 29/04/2019 20:08

Have a look at Mr & Mrs Smith for your dates.

Cliveden and Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons are both pretty special.
