After the deletion of various threads on here (you know what I'm talking about) Grin

Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

OP posts:
CommeDesPoissons · 27/04/2019 16:15

My fave was the Mum who'd been left in the back of the car. It was a huge estate with seats in the back and all the family & ILs got out the car and went into the house and left her on the small backwards facing seat and didn't wait for her.
So she started a thread from the boot of the car about how no one cared about her because they hadn't noticed she wasn't in the house and she was going to stay there until someone noticed.

Yes, that was bonkers! People kept asking why she didn't just go in the house but she was determined to stay put.

Maybe the one whose partner shared custody of a teddy bear with his ex girlfriend Grin

InsertFunnyUsername · 27/04/2019 16:24

Auld

Tragic is the right word 😂

New meaning to always having your own back Grin

The one where a regular poster named changed to ask about a really embarrassing problem....only the name change failed and the first response was "OPs-original-name is that you?"

ooooohbetty · 27/04/2019 16:26

I remember cancel the cheque was good but can't remember what it was about.

Weirdpenguin · 27/04/2019 16:27

It has to be Balonz. Do you prefer Alexander, James or Balonz? 😂

Butchyrestingface · 27/04/2019 16:29

The one about the poster whose husband ejaculated all over her university assignment during a heated argument.

And she was still contemplating submitting it. 📚

Yeah, UCM, who then sadly posted whilst super drunk and was appallingly racist and got banned.

Beachbodynowayready · 27/04/2019 16:36

The swimsuit stripper who's dh shouted Minge at the poolside!!
Think I wee-d a bit!!

IggyAce · 27/04/2019 16:37

@ooooohbetty cancel the cheque came from the thread were op had been contacted by a bride and groom saying that the cheque she had given them as a gift wasn’t large enough and expecting her to give them more money.

lostmydad · 27/04/2019 16:37

Yes, I was thinking of this one as well. All I can remember was that it was very funny at the time and there were hundreds of posters saying "cancel the cheque". If anyone can enlighten me as to what that was about that would be great.

The Sistine Screamer was hilarious. I cried my eyes out laughing at that.

igotdemons · 27/04/2019 16:38

‘Mexican House Thief’ comes to mind, simply because of how shockingly cheeky some people can be!! 😮😮😮

Thanks! I remember that now

igotdemons · 27/04/2019 16:39

From memory, the cancel the cheque post was about a lady who’d given a bride and groom a cheque for £100 as a wedding gift but they’d basically intimated that it wasn’t a lot and had she made a mistake and meant to give them more?! 😮😮😮

mummmy2017 · 27/04/2019 16:40

The one where OP was asked to pay for a play date ..
Because OP had friends who paid for her and the woman thought it was unfair....

LuckyLou7 · 27/04/2019 16:40

Cancel the cheque was where the Op had written a generous cheque as a wedding present to a colleague. Said colleague then wrote to the OP saying considering how wealthy she was, the cheque could have been for a damn sight more, or words to that effect.
Cue dozens of posters failing to read the thread in full and advising OP to cancel the cheque over and over again, when the colleague had already cashed it. I think.

SecretWitch · 27/04/2019 16:42

My fave batshit one has been mentioned. I remember watching the “just give them the house” thread with such amazement.

T-Rex helped cheer me immensely.

I miss petal and her crazy threads.

Inrestlessdreamsiwalkalone · 27/04/2019 16:42

One about the car accident . The OP could not see how it was her fault despite everyone telling her... she got the thread deleted for some made up reason to cover that she couldn't take being wrong.

Bloomin Boswell! There once was a man called Boswell, bos for short. And he walked up the post office steps... or something argh

Also loved the one were the op lived in a flat in a listed building and had her own private garden, she came home one day to discover the new neighbours had instructed builders to fit tacky pvc patio doors destroying a very old window in the process. The councils heritage people were involved and it was going to cost the neighbours a fortune to put right all because the cf thought they could steal her garden.
I do sometimes wonder if it was all put right and what it cost in the end.

mummmy2017 · 27/04/2019 16:47

The house warming gift one is good right now.

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/04/2019 16:47

These are the reasons I love MN!!

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 27/04/2019 16:48

Sistine screamer still gets me 😂

Elemental · 27/04/2019 16:49

I loved the one about grandparents who wanted to choose their own yooneeque name to be called by their grandchildren, grandma and grandad being too boring etc. The MIL wanting to be called Special Nanna Lainey Loo in particular.
