And which recipe for homemade ice-tea you like most?

No, gross. Think you have to be, I dunno, Spanish? American??? To like it.

I think it's one of those things you only like if you grow up having it.

flyingspaghettimonster · 26/04/2019 22:28

We live in Philly and there is a stupid sugar tax on all drinks that makes a 2l bottle of coke $3-$4. So I make sweet tea instead. i boil a kettle and have a giant glass pinch dispenser, about 6l worth. I add about 1/4 a pack of sugar, 4 yorkshire gold teabags and the kettle of water in. Stir the sugar till it melts then let tea bags steep a bit, too up with cold water and bung in fridge. It does the job. I don't add lemon or fruit etc, I use those for raspberry lemonade about once a week as a change. I would guess in UK you could use less sugar and still enjoy it as you won't have had your palatte spoiled by the godawful sweetness of everything stateside.

isabellerossignol · 26/04/2019 22:28

I loved iced tea. Watching with interest...

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/04/2019 22:29

Nope. I don't know any English people who drink iced tea, only Americans. Although I'm sure someone will be along to prove me wrong. Smile

EKGEMS · 26/04/2019 22:29

Yes I am in the southern US

GreytExpectations · 26/04/2019 22:29

Yes its amazing but only the proper kind that you get in the Southern American states 👌🏽

nuggles · 26/04/2019 22:29

In the uk and only drink I can stomach at 4 months pregnant

ZippyBungleandGeorge · 26/04/2019 22:30

I love iced fruit tea or black tea with lemon (just brew , cool, pour over ice and frozen fruit), but not the really sweet premade sugary American type stuff

Im English and i drink ice tea. A bit odd to say an entire nationality doesnt...what about the Brits who now live in the US who may have liked it after being introduced?

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/04/2019 22:32

The sweet stuff is foul to me but I do think it's a matter of what you're used to as a child.

Cold brew coffee on the other hand I love.

Flyingfish2019 · 26/04/2019 22:33

@Ivegotthree: I did not grow up around “modern“ icetea variants. However my mother used to make ice tea from lemons juice, water and black tea (in the 1990s) but I am delighted how many variants there are nowadays.

I like unsweetened iced tea. I make my own with fruity tea bags (200ml water for every tea bag, steep in cold water in fridge for 7-8 hours). Twinnings also do good tea bags specially for iced tea that are ready in 5 mins. It's just yummy flavoured water with no added sugar Grin

SeeSpotRun · 26/04/2019 22:33

Do the bottles of Lipton peach or lemon flavour drink count? I like them.

PurpleDaisies · 26/04/2019 22:34

It’s horrible.

wotsittoyou · 26/04/2019 22:35

Yy to iced coffee, but no to ice tea (it's 'orrible).

Aquamarine1029 · 26/04/2019 22:35

I LOVE iced tea, unsweetened, and make my own by cold brewing it. It's so delicious and refreshing.

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/04/2019 22:35

I said that I DON'T KNOW ANY ENGLISH PEOPLE WHO DRINK ICED TEA. I didn't say that I know all English people and that I speak for the nation.

Nacreous · 26/04/2019 22:36

I do like Lipton's etc but I also make my own.

I like earl grey, unsweetened but with slices of oranges and lemons through it.

thedishonthecoffeetable · 26/04/2019 22:37

Does a long island iced tea count? Am quite partial to one or two of them on occasion 😁

YeOldeTrout · 26/04/2019 22:38

I'm American & can't stand iced tea. Blech.
People gushed about it when I was growing up. Blech.
Have become addict of hot tea with milk.

bridgetreilly · 26/04/2019 22:43

YABU to call it ice tea. It's ICED tea.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 26/04/2019 22:45

I love it!

I think it's one of those things you only like if you grow up having it.

Meh, wrong.

Amanduh · 26/04/2019 22:46

I’ve tried it a million times a million different times and it’s still vile

mouldyhousemouldylife · 26/04/2019 22:46

Hope so, that's the kind I'm used to!

Amanduh · 26/04/2019 22:46
