And which recipe for homemade ice-tea you like most?

Scottish, didn't try it until I was an adult but love the stuff. I don't like the new liptons recipes with stevia though so I make my own now by brewing up a strong cup of whatever flavour and then shaking it immediately in a cocktail shaker with an equal volume of ice and half to one teaspoon of sugar or honey. Pour over more ice to serve. I was introduced to this method by a Greek barista locally, and it means you don't have to wait for it to chill. Lemon and ginger or green tea with jasmine are particularly nice.

I love Liptons ice tea and I'm British! It's a taste of holidays to me. The peach one is the best.

I worked as a Nanny in Canada 30 years ago, the mum used to leave a pot of tea on the side every morning before she left and I naturally thought it was for binning (and did so). It only bloody turns out she was keeping it until the evening to add mountains of ice to! I was horrified!! (but not as horrified as the marshmallows and sweet potato bake at Thanksgiving!!!). 🤣🤣

I don't like hot tea (to the shock of many other Brits!) But I love iced teas. Whittards sell iced tea powder which you dissolve in a bit if warm water then top up with cold water and ice. They're chock full of sugar though.

Yep, love it but haven't found one in the UK that is like it's American counterpart yet Sad
RedsTrueBBQ comes close. San Pelligrino do a nice one with peach.

i love this one iced or hot, the kids love it too
i just make a large pot of it, but i make it extra strong and i add a spoon or two of sugar, wait until it is really well steeped then remove the tea mix, cool a bit them pour over a large jug of ice and add some cold water to dilute

I love unsweetened ice tea, I drink gallons of it whenever I’m in the US. I love having a sugar and sweetener free cheap and easily available drink which isn’t water.

I make it at home for the summer. I seep one ordinary tea bag in a couple of pints of boiling water for about five minutes, then I add about half a teaspoon of citric acid granules. Cool to room temperature then put in the fridge, when it’s chilled I drink it over ice. It’s the closest I’ve managed to get to the flavour of the stuff in the US.

MammaSchwifty · 27/04/2019 11:51

Love the stuff, refreshing perfect summer drink

francienolan · 27/04/2019 11:53

I love it all. Especially an arnold palmer--unsweetened iced tea mixed with cloudy lemonade. Unsweetened is a nice, low calorie drink to have in the summer, although I wouldn't say no to a sweetened one either!

SlightlyPsychotic · 27/04/2019 14:15

I'm partial to a peach iced tea from costa (weather depending) as it's lovely and refreshing on a hot day and i've never really tried them from anywhere else but other than that i'll stick to normal pop if i want anything sweet haha.

JustAnotherMNUserPassing · 27/04/2019 14:17

I do! Lipton bottles & costa/starbucks!

vampirethriller · 27/04/2019 14:17

I love Liptons raspberry iced tea. Lidl do big bottles of lemon, that's very good.

Me, too. Love love love an Arnold Palmer.
