Male teacher STILL making toilet pass dd wait , what next?!

I've posted about this before.
DD has a toilet pass both for bladder and dysmenorrhoea/flooding.
She is on medication for both.

I have actually complained three times now on different levels as she is either being stopped from going, argued with for ten minutes about why she shouldn't go or made to wait until someone else comes back (even though toilets are individual cubicles on to the corridor near reception like disabled toilets so not like they can mess about.

I've even checked there is no concern about her going when she doesn't need to and there's not.

DD has also let slip that she doesn't like to go at break even when she does need to go then because the boys have figured how to open the doors and push them open when staff aren't there.

I've complained formally already. I've been told all staff will be reminded and also the staff member will be spoken to.

What next?!

Your dd deserves a genuine apology from this man but he sounds like the type who will have to show some passive-aggressive behaviour even after he’s been set straight. I hope for your dd’s sake I’m wrong though.

Apparently the teacher is fed up of kids going to the toilet in his lesson

So he thinks his being fed up trumps the Equality Act does he? What a pig. He's in the wrong job.

If he's fed up of the interruption then perhaps he should suggest that all those with a toilet pass just go straight to the toilet after the lesson before his and come into his class a few minutes late. Then once they're in, there will be less disruption. Of course some kids with passes will need to go again, but maybe less than at the moment if they go before the class starts?

I honestly don't buy that excuse, he still seems like a creep to me.

Jellybeansincognito · 27/04/2019 16:00

I would take this further personally, I wouldn’t feel
comfortable with someone teaching my child after such behaviour. Teachers are meant to be there to educate and aid confidence and set positive examples to their class, aiding them in passing their exams. Not making them feel humiliated and uncomfortable, it doesn’t sit right at all.

bellabasset · 27/04/2019 16:10

It would be less disruptive surely if the teacher didn't get so stroppy about it. He certainly lacks sensitivity.

do schools all have unisex toilets?

Is this a a result of the gender change lobby, or something else. Either way, I am sure girls and maybe boys as well will be none too chuffed.

I honestly don't buy that excuse, he still seems like a creep to me.

Same here - he is a bully, and possibly a pervert (I know - horrible accusation, but what other type of person could repeatedly prevent a child with continence issues from using the toilet after this has been discussed and clarified in detail ? He must derive some pleasure from the thought of her embarrassment and discomfort.)

I really would take this further if this was my child OP.

Sorry - shouldn't have been a strikethrough - I meant to italicise it.

I'm a school governor too and am appalled by the way your school are handling this.
If the lesson is one that is ' disrupted' by children needing the toilet (those with passes/bladder issues) then it is up to the school to find a solution. They could allow those children to go to the toilet before the lesson, or organise the classroom seating in such a way that those who need to exit the room can do so easily & quietly.
As for the other issue with boys opening toilet doors, this is a safeguarding issue that requires immediate action.
