To skive off work tomorrow?

I know I'm being massively unreasonable! So I'm hoping you'll all say yes you are but do it anyway! I need random strangers to justify it to myself.

I've had the past 2 weeks off with the kids over Easter, we all go back to work/school tomorrow.

I'm a single parent and haven't had a day to myself throughout the whole holidays, don't get me wrong, it's been fab being off with the kids and doing lots with them, but mentally I need some time to myself!

The weather is glorious tomorrow, would I be unreasonable to skive off work and go for a walk up a mountain with just the dog for company?!

Well I feel sorry for you so I guess we’re even. Oh wait - I don’t as you are merely a few words on an Internet forum. Don’t you have work to be doing?

I work in school and I never want to go back after the holiday (does anyone in any job? ) but I always do. The reality of going back is never as bad as the thought of it. Not only do I think it’s wrong to pretend to be ill but things have a way of going pear shaped. What if you bump into someone who knows you’re skiving and word gets back? You may think it’s unlikely but it’s a small world. Even worse someone sees you where you shouldn’t be but you don’t see them so are unaware. The most bizarre event could out you. Not worth it. You’d probably spend the day feeling guilty anyway and you’d still have to fit in your planning. Get to work.😇
