For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

OP posts:

I dont understand the canonisation of Lee Rigby just because he owned a uniform. Could have been anyone, he was just a bloke walking down the road, wrong time, wrong place. Sad, but. Enough now.

He didn't own a uniform. He was a member of the British Army. His killers went out specifically looking for a member of the armed forces to attack. So, no. It couldn't have been anyone.

TheFastandCurious · 23/04/2019 13:20

Fill your boots. Just thought it was a little ‘pot and kettle’

Just my opinion of course.

Prequelle · 23/04/2019 13:22

Ah so you're one of the 'wankers cunts and attention seekers' you were talking about then hobnobs Grin

BigMosquito · 23/04/2019 13:29

I thought this was going to be all light hearted things like "it's okay to have unexpected visitors from time to time", "Boden and Joules are shit" and "it's nice to have people who want to visit you and your newborn sooner than an 8 week advance visit planned with military precision"

It's certainly moved on since the first six pages...

Confused
CarolDanvers · 23/04/2019 13:34

It always does bigmosquito. Probs be deleted soon.

Bearbehind · 23/04/2019 13:35

I hope it doesn’t get deleted - as some else said, it’s a useful reference tool now.

pasturesgreen · 23/04/2019 13:37

Nobody cares about your wedding day, people who say ‘everyone said it was the best day ever’ - your friends are just being polite, no one is going to say ‘actually I didnt really enjoy it much’

^This. Along the same lines, nobody apart from hopefully family and very close friends really cares very much about your engagement/hen do/newborn baby.

I think Meghan Markle is a narcissistic self-absorbed gold digger who'll last five years tops as Duchess, before getting bored of it all and fucking off back to California with her child(ren) and doing a series of tell-all interviews with Oprah.

NoYo · 23/04/2019 13:37

I voted to Leave and still would.

Benefits should be a safety net, not a lifestyle choice.

I enjoy working from home (hobby business.) I loved not returning to work after our last child and never felt unfulfilled.

Drogosnextwife · 23/04/2019 13:39

People who assume theirs is the only and correct way to do feminism aren’t actually feminists at all.

YES!

Snapped and farted WAS NOT FUNNY. LET. IT. DIE.

Again YES!

@motherheroic

@badlydrawnperson Are you going to contribute or just police?

I am not sure why it's important to you, but if you read the thread you will see I have both contributed and pointed out that several contributions are not, in fact, unpopular opinions on MN.

AlaskanOilBaron · 23/04/2019 13:53

People who send their children to boarding school shouldn’t have had children

Each to their own. I’m delighted that my son will receive the finest education on the planet.

I can’t believe there are people who don’t care about global warming. Unless you mean this in the literal sense rather than as broader metaphor for food supply chains, declining biodiversity, plastic overload deforestation and so forth?

DaisyAWhoops · 23/04/2019 13:53

There are some ugly babies.

Wearing a flat cap and vaping (when you never smoked) is not edgy.

I am an advocate of baby led parenting and I do not understand people who use Gina Ford or CIO.

You want to decorate your house for Hallmark Holidays? Go for it. Do I? Nope cause I'm not a mug.

TheFastandCurious · 23/04/2019 13:55

You want to decorate your house for Hallmark Holidays? Go for it. Do I? Nope cause I'm not a mug

Do you mean decorating the house for Easter or things like valentines, Mother’s Day? Or all of them?

FissionChips · 23/04/2019 14:00

Pizza should be served pre-sliced.

TatianaLarina · 23/04/2019 14:02

I think people with shit lives should stop projecting their bitterness onto people they’ve never met.

Ringdonna · 23/04/2019 14:06

Most women and girls will have periods stop whinging about them you snowflakes.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 23/04/2019 14:09

Terrorists are murderers. Don't dignify them with a cause. We don't have a terrorist problem, we have a male violence problem.

havingtochangeusernameagain · 23/04/2019 14:12

Fat Face and White Stuff clothes are for people who want to look like their own grandmas

Nah, you have M&S for that.

SuperCoop3r · 23/04/2019 14:14

Yuk. Why MNHQ allow these threads, God alone knows. They certainly bring out the dregs of society that's for sure

sockatoe · 23/04/2019 14:16

Children should attend their local school within their catchment area unless there is a good reason not to. Too much choice increases deceit, traffic on the roads and reduces the feeling of community.
All schools should offer an excellent education regardless of location. Same applies to hospital treatment.

DaisyAWhoops · 23/04/2019 14:18

Parrot - I mean days like Mother's Day and Valentine's. Only noticed it happening in recent years and it just seems to be a way for shops to flog you more stuff.

TheFastandCurious · 23/04/2019 14:21

@DaisyAWhoops

I didn’t even know that was a thing!

I’m totally not going to look it up now and suggest my family lavishly decorate our entire house in my honour every Mother’s Day from now till eternity. Not at all Grin

IrmaFayLear · 23/04/2019 14:22

But rather than bad schools , it's usually bad kids (or, let's be honest, common kids). No one dares say this. You could swap all the kids of "good" school with all the kids in the "bad" school and you'd end up with exactly as you were before.

badlydrawnperson · 23/04/2019 14:25

Eh? Some people have opinions.
