For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

OP posts:
TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 21:35

High levels of immigration, especially from poor, backward countries are bad
Is letting people die in those countries for being gay, or women, or the wrong religion murder? Or just abortion?

needanappp · 22/04/2019 21:36

Tattoos are fine. Your body your choice (although I personally wouldn't get one on my face!)

You don't always have to LTB. No one is perfect and relationships have problems. Plenty could be worked through.

Waiting until your child is "ready" and potty training at 4 years+. I personally think it should generally be done before this.

Being proud and happy about breastfeeding your baby doesn't mean you're judging, looking down on or feel superior to bottle feeding mom's. It's a tough but rewarding thing to do and it's okay to talk about how happy you are to be doing it!

Similarly, I think there are women including me with my first who didn't breastfeed because they believed their supply was an issue or their baby wasn't getting enough when everything was normal but they didn't know enough about breastfeeding to realise. That's not a dig at the Mother's by any means, I don't think there is nearly enough breastfeeding support or education. The midwives promote it but they don't actually tell you much about it!! Unless you do some research of your own you're unlikely to have an idea of what you're in for.

Marriage is a big deal. I think a lot of people do it for the day rather than it meaning something to them.

fluorescentorange · 22/04/2019 21:36

If you are a SAHP your working partner should not have to lift a finger around the house.

Bearbehind · 22/04/2019 21:36

One does not need to "rtft" to answer an AIBU. It's not important. Aibu isn't important. If you have "invested your time" in it and are offended by me not rtft you need to step back and consider your life.

I think this post sums this thread up.

One does need to RTFT to see if there is more information or if dozens of people have said the same thing before.

One does not need to RTFT if they think their opinion is so important it trumps all of that.

CIO is borderline abusive.

Breast is best.

No is not a complete sentence. You can't just go around saying 'no' to stuff and never giving reasons or elaborating in any way. People will think you're fucking mental.

Child-free weddings are mean-spirited.

everythingisginandroses · 22/04/2019 21:38

JC4PM.

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 21:39

order to claim out of work benefits you should be able to prove you’re using effective contraception

Um how does that work. Bring in a box of used condoms?

TigersRoll · 22/04/2019 21:40

Most overweight people are overweight because they eat too much

“Trans” people should not be allowed to compete in the olympics under their new “gender”

People love to be offended

Sparklingbrook · 22/04/2019 21:40

Yes Jeremy Clarkson for PM everything. Smile

Ithinkmycatisevil · 22/04/2019 21:40

I'm thrilled to bits that both my offspring are female. Little boys annoy the hell out of me, even the nice ones! (Toddlers and teenagers are ok, there's just about 10 years in the middle when I really wouldn't want one).

Boden is over priced shite.

Bluestitch · 22/04/2019 21:41

In order to claim out of work benefits you should be able to prove you’re using effective contraception

How will that work for men? Or is it just women who will be expected to pump themselves with hormones regardless of any side effects so that they can afford to eat?

mooncuplanding · 22/04/2019 21:41

Vegans who ‘have’ vegan babies are selfish and harming their children with their moralistic ideology

Obese people are given shitty advice about how they got obese (eat too much bla bla) and the NHS advise of eating low fat is literally killing people

It is worse to put dog shit in a plastic bag and put it in a bin than to move into undergrowth away from paths

Buddytheelf85 · 22/04/2019 21:41

‘Did you mean to be so rude’ is the shittest comeback ever. Because chances are that the person absolutely did mean to be rude.

‘No’ isn't a complete sentence, not in real life for vaguely normal people.

The ‘fuck off to the far side of fuck’ saying is absolutely embarrassing.

GunpowderGelatine · 22/04/2019 21:41

I love hen do's especially ones that take place abroad.

TigersRoll · 22/04/2019 21:41

@TerryWogansWilly drugs testing for contraceptive use or something, I don’t know but if there’s a way, it should be done.

ICE50 · 22/04/2019 21:42

The ‘fuck off to the far side of fuck’ saying is absolutely embarrassing.

Agreed.

MrsDesireeCarthorse · 22/04/2019 21:42

Cooking from scratch is not difficult.

Some people whose lives look perfect really DO have perfect lives.

Flab is not attractive.

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 21:43

hink this post sums this thread up

One does need to RTFT to see if there is more information or if dozens of people have said the same thing before.

One does not need to RTFT if they think their opinion is so important it trumps al

MN isn't that important. If you're going to be offended and pick on one post to be the post that exemplifies the whole thread I'm amused you picked this one and not any of the bile spewed. Interesting values

Ithinkmycatisevil · 22/04/2019 21:44

Also SAHPs are definitely not just as busy as working parents. Just saying.

ScrewyMcScrewup · 22/04/2019 21:44

If you prefer sticking your hand into a toilet than using a brush, you really have no business preaching about cleanliness.

TigersRoll · 22/04/2019 21:44

Agree with “fuck off to the far side of fuck” thing ... cringe! Nobody talks like that in real life, it makes you sound like an absolute idiot

TerryWogansWilly · 22/04/2019 21:44

So if a man is on the dole they should be able to force his partner to take a drug test?

Herland · 22/04/2019 21:44

Love a bit of SAHP bashing.🤨

Parenthood has been commodified to the extent that both parents often can not afford to work.

Recent challenges to women's right are not about LGBT rights but about men's rights.

Bearbehind · 22/04/2019 21:46

I’ve commented on several other disgusting posts on this thread.

I chose that one as it exemplifies the fact that far too many people believe their opinion is so important that they don’t need to bother reading what anyone else has written.

TBH some of the comments on this thread make me sick. tigerroll in particular but there are plenty of others.

If you think it’s big and clever to spout bile like this then it says a lot about you.
