I want to hear about your good or bad encounters with a celebrity/famous person please! In the late nineties I met the chef Ainsley Harriot at a London train station when I was cueing to buy a ticket! I was very excited about this and told him I loved the show Ready Steady Cook which he was on at the time, he was really nice and chatty but I didn't get his autograph though! More recently about 2 years ago Ray Winston was sitting at the table beside us in a Chinese restaurant but we didn't get to speak as he was engrossed in conversation. I nearly forgot Todd Carty aka Mark from East Enders used to use our local newsagent in the morning on way to Elstree again in the nineties, he was always very smiley and drove a little MG!

tillytrotter1 · 05/05/2019 15:23

OH worked with a very well-known mass murderer, said he was a nice bloke, though that was before his other activities became known!

Shufflebumnessie · 05/05/2019 15:36

I forgot to add that I met Jeremy Kyle through a mutual friend. He was arrogant, rude and full of self importance just like he comes across on tv (not that I watch his show I hasten to add but I've seen bits of a few episodes Grin)

Boneshere · 05/05/2019 18:21

@WeMarchon yeah in the photos you can see Manny Mua pulling a face behind my back, like "ew" and he was very stand offish like he didn't want to share the same air. I don't know if it is because I was heavy back then, or because I am disabled, but I am guessing it is one or the other. So I had already fell out with him before Jeffree lol!!

@scoose yesssss! His lipsticks are THE best. Shame about blue blood being blues and me having green eyes, that palette is gorgeous

Elderflower14 · 05/05/2019 19:00

Ds2 went to see Sooty this afternoon. He facetimed me and I saw Sooty and spoke to Richard!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Soooo jealous. Sooty through a snowball polystyrene wrapped in a bandage at me in Catford Theatre in 1982 and I still have it.

Always had a high regard for Sooty.

I snogged an A list actor right before his career really took off. He has a reputation, but he goes to great lengths to put out a squeaky clean, "nice guy" image for his career.

He invited me back to his hotel room. Wasn't really my style, but looking back I wish I'd made an exception! Grin

Quite surprised to hear about Gary Lineker being unpleasant on these sorts of threads as a friend met him and found him very pleasant and even held her coat for her whilst she popped to the loo.

Met Danny Dyer, actually a very nice man. I also sat next to the cast of EE when they were filming in a café. Unsurprisngly Linda Henry seemed a little grumpy and glary, no smiles but perhaps she was busy in thought.

Pete Doherty is supposed to be very pleasant and down to earth from very close sources.

Bestfootforward1 · 06/05/2019 10:10

"MissLadyM
There's something really needy & pathetic about these threads. They're just people ffs"

There's always a fun sponge. This is best.....thread......ever!!!

Bestfootforward1 · 06/05/2019 10:24

Whos Murr?

"CharlieCoCo

Murr is amazing, so into fans and mingles with them, buys drinks etc. I have been on their cruises before and boy does his body guard deserve his money as he prob works the hardest as Murr mingled so much 🤣"

Moondancer73 · 06/05/2019 12:49

I've met David James, twice, Ade Edmondson, George Michael - so sad when he died - Colin Jackson and Andrew Lincoln.

Jemima232 · 06/05/2019 12:54

I've delivered a few babies for famous women but obviously cannot say who they were.

Also been at a pub quiz with Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell) and met Shirley Bassey many moons ago (not at a pub quiz.)

Nearly became Jonathan Ross's nanny - he was lovely.

WeMarchOn · 06/05/2019 13:26

@Bestfootforward1 James "Murr" Murray from Impractical Jokers

ILoveYou3000 · 06/05/2019 13:36

YoThePussy · 06/05/2019 14:18

Was working at a racecourse some years ago and there was a function on which I was helping with. There were lots of footballers there and other sporty people. Talking to a man and asked what he did. He smiled very sweetly and said he played a bit of football. It was Cristiano Ronaldo. He was lovely, I fell a tiny bit in love with him that day for being so nice to me.

Scoose · 06/05/2019 14:42

bones I know! I've got about 20 of the velour lippys and keep adding to my collection! I've got the blood sugar palette I love it, blue blood is lovely but I've got green eyes too so it's not for me I suit warmer colours and purples rather than blue!

LadyRannaldini · 06/05/2019 18:45

Jason McAteer

There's a blast from the past!!

breakfastpizza · 07/05/2019 21:06

@ILoveYou3000 - Nope, one of the "C"s.

IKnowYouAndYouCannotSing · 07/05/2019 21:16

I’ve met Stephen Fry (lovely), Jimmy Carr (really nice, I was surprised!), Alan Davies (was coming onto me which was a bit grim as I was about 19 and he was easily twice my age at the time!), Eamon Holmes (strangely sexy in the flesh), Charlie Brooker (a bit of a misery), Robert Webb (really, really nice and funny) and Jarvis Cocker (very funny).

Doidontimmm · 07/05/2019 21:30

Used to work in a 5* hotel: Billy Connolly, Rod Stewart, Gregor Fisher, Kylie, Dani, Dec, Bob Holness , Richard Frank Bruno, Brad Pitt to name a few!!

ILoveYou3000 · 07/05/2019 21:37

deadsexy · 07/05/2019 21:50

Isthisreallylife · 07/05/2019 22:24

I went out with George Best 3 times in 1973 when I was 18. I met him in a now long forgotten pub in central manchester - I think he may have owned or part owned it? - I didn’t know who he was at first as he looked a lot different to his photos and was (as were many in the day) very drunk. He spoke little and impressed me about the same! He sent his car for me 2 nights on the run but I think I was just another ‘pretty girl on his arm’ and by the 3rd night I was really bored and sent his car away

breakfastpizza · 07/05/2019 23:05

@ILoveYou3000 Halo

Are we allowed to link to other forums? Lipstick Alley has some great threads about what celebs are really like, including a recent one dedicated to Brit tv/film stars.
