Rubbish Chocolate

(Somewhat lighthearted!)

Having not eaten any chocolate for 6 weeks plus I was particularly excited for Easter Sunday and had put in a requested for either a Lindt Bunny (1st choice) or Would have been happy with Cadbury’s. I’m actually gutted this morning to have received an Aldi £2.99 Giant Bunny thing - blergh. Of course I will be acting grateful to my husband when he comes home from work later but, seriously? That sort of rubbish is reserved for children who don’t care about rubbish tasting chocolate surely? WIBU to go and buy my own Lindt Bunny in secret tomorrow? At least the diet isn’t ruined because I don’t want to eat any of the one I’ve got haha

Hmm.

Eliza9919 · 21/04/2019 08:31

Or Biscuit

Glittery1 · 21/04/2019 08:33

Yuck, I don't blame you. I would definitely go and buy my own today.

reallybadidea · 21/04/2019 08:33

YABU. Aldi chocolate is far nicer than Cadbury's

SilverGoldBronze · 21/04/2019 08:34

Also chocolate is really nice! Particularly the Moser Roth - far superior to Cadbury’s.

SilverGoldBronze · 21/04/2019 08:34

*Aldi not also

iamruth · 21/04/2019 08:35

@reallybadidea - want to swap? Haha It won’t go to waste I’m sure he will ‘help’ me to eat it and it’s the thought that counts after all 😁

Aldi chocolate is delicious!

TheInvestigator · 21/04/2019 08:36

Cadbury chocolate is shit. There's barely any chocolate in It!

iamruth · 21/04/2019 08:37

@silvergoldbronze I think this is most likely to be the cheap and nasty type of chocolate from Aldi. Don’t get me wrong I love Aldi for most things and bought the kids egg hunt eggs from there but I just don’t like it myself!

Aldi chocolate is actually quite nice and I say this as a die hard Cadbury fan. Grin

RandomAmanda · 21/04/2019 08:38

I agree with reallybadidea Maybe, maybe it's just because I've gotten used to the taste but I prefer Aldi Choceur chocolate. I love the bar they do with the big chunkalicious chunks 😋

I also prefer Aldi ketchup!

HappydaysArehere · 21/04/2019 08:38

Haven’t tried Aldi but love Lidl chocolate. It is far nicer than Cadbury’s.

memaymamo · 21/04/2019 08:38

YANBU to want nice chocolate. Buy the bunny yourself! YABU to complain to DH but I don't think you intend to do that anyway.

One Christmas I said I didn't need any presents, just some nice chocolates. DH gave me two large blocks of Cadbury from the supermarket.... he thought it was better value. So romantic.

reallybadidea · 21/04/2019 08:38

@iamruth

I don't have anything to swap with so far!

polkadotpixie · 21/04/2019 08:39

Aldi chocolate is much better quality than Cadbury (speaking as someone who has worked in a boutique handmade chocolate shop for 6 years) so YABU, sorry!

WhiteDust · 21/04/2019 08:39

DH and I have never exchanged Easter eggs Hmm but maybe you could pop out to the local shop or petrol station and buy myself a bar of chocolate.

Nuttyaboutnutella · 21/04/2019 08:39

Aldi chocolate is MUCH nicer than Cadburys.

DontFundHate · 21/04/2019 08:40

Yanbu. Those would be my choices too. Buy lots of nice chocolate next week when it's all discounted

WhiteDust · 21/04/2019 08:40

yourself... not myself! Confused

SpamChaudFroid · 21/04/2019 08:42

He needs to make it up to you by buying you ALL of the Orange Smarties easter eggs tomorrow, when they're at half price. It's the only possible course of action!

WindsweptEgret · 21/04/2019 08:43

Aldi chocolate is much better than Cadbury's. My 12 year old has always cared about rubbish tasting chocolate (giving away eggs he didn't like at age 2) and he won't touch the stuff.

screamifyouwant · 21/04/2019 08:43

Go buy a Lindt chocolate bunny .
I also requested a Lindt chocolate from dh but I bought my own yesterday as I knew he hadn't bought me one . I will enjoy later and I won't be sharing Grin

iamruth · 21/04/2019 08:44

@mymaymamo You’re right I would never complain to him, I think I’ve just been looking forward to my nice Lindt Bunny for weeks. I think I’ll try to get myself one (discounted hopefully!) this week and share the other one with him and the kids Grin

Have you tried it yet? Maybe it will surprise you based on the comments from others. I'd be gutted with anything other than a cream egg Easter egg tbf
