Reverse image search

My boyfriend has stumbled across a picture on the internet that looks astonishingly like me. It's not me but it looks so much like me I can see why he is upset.

I have reverse image searched and it is coming up with dates in 2013. Is this definitely the date that the image was first put on to the internet?

I look significantly different now than i did in 2013 due to surgery on my face 6 months ago and the picture resembles me now not me then.

Aibu to ask you to help me save my relationship? I don't blame him for questioning it i was questioning it myself until I saw the dates.

You google a particular image and the results show you where else on the internet the picture can be found.

Those are the dates the images can be dated back to, so I'd say they originated in 2013

I'm a photographer and search some of my images occasionally as they can get stolen and used online. Let's say it's a typical wedding shot, perhaps on a staircase. If the position is similar to one of my photos then it will sometimes suggest that the image is the same as mine. It's not an exact science and it's disappointing that your boyfriend doesn't trust you.

It is very possible to have someone out there who is almost your double.

I would be more concerned with your boyfriends response. You've told him it's not you. That should be the end of it, you shouldn't have to prove it Confused

It was me who did the reverse image search as the picture is so similar to me.

The porn picture has now been made into a meme about creme eggs which he saw on Facebook and it really does look like me.

If i didnt know that I have never posed for the specific rude shot I would genuinely beliwve this person was me.

I was doubting myself so cant blame my boyfriend when faced with photographic evidence.

If I saw a pic that looked like me I would know whether it was or not. I wouldn't need to reverse search the image. Who does that?

Sorry i have never been a porn star I thought someone could have photos hopped the rude bit.

But given that my face is very different now to 2013 i know it is not me photoshopped or otherwise

It's quite self explanatory op... The dates are accurate. Then show him your face prior to surgery.

Because it looks exactly like me and i thought the rude part could have been added. I reverse searched to see where else the picture appeared.

My doppelgänger as a teenager was a babestation girl - v annoying. But, if the image doesn't show up dated pre 2013 then it is no earlier than that that it originates and it isn't possible to be later than that really, unless on a site which allows backdating which is unusual.

I'd be angry that my DP didn't believe me tbh

The date it was first found will be the same or later than it was uploaded, yes. That'll be when Google first indexed the image. They could be older.

Thanks, I thought I was going crazy. I feel sick that if anyone else sees this picture (the creme egg meme) they are going to think it is me.
