To take my child's house key away when

When they go to uni? When they set up in their own home?
Never?
I still have a key to my mother's house, but because I live in another country and only go for extended visits it's not like I ever go unannounced - does that make a difference?

My brother & I both still have keys for my Mums house & she has keys to ours. I never let myself in though unless it's been arranged in advance

I'd say never. We kinda have a set up that it will still always be our "home". So all the kids and children in-laws have a key. Eventhough none of us have actually lived in the housem
