Baby Name Conundrum - WIBU?

tempnamechange19 · 12/04/2019 19:03

I have name changed for this one as it is a tad outing.

My husband has come up with what he believes to be a beautiful and very fitting name for our new baby... I disagree.

The name is Byromi and is a mixture of our names.

I think that although it would be an unusual name, it is very lazy just to smash them together and it is also a bit odd sounding. He thinks I am being unreasonable not to even consider it.

Does anyone have any thoughts on either the name or the mixing of parents names to make a new name?

Thanks!

@Byron85 😀😀

LittleKitty1985 · 12/04/2019 19:22

My friends did this to name their dog. I wouldn't do it for a child. Perhaps save the name for a pet instead?

Chippychipsforme · 12/04/2019 19:23

Imagine moving into a new house and introducing yourself to the neighbours.

CarrieBlu · 12/04/2019 19:23

Made me think of Biryani. Fancy a takeaway now.

Disfordarkchocolate · 12/04/2019 19:25

It's not for me, it looks made up of two names which makes me think of a retirement bungalow.

HeyNannyNanny · 12/04/2019 19:26

Sounds like a venereal disease. Don't do it.

Also with tatse that bad, perhaps you should just LTB? Wink

Chippychipsforme · 12/04/2019 19:27

If you have a second child you could call it Naron.

itsbetterthanabox · 12/04/2019 19:28

It's not an unusual name because it's not even a name. Think of unusual actual names you both like. You have to both like it.
The nickname would be By.
Will the surname be his or yours out of interest?

itsbetterthanabox · 12/04/2019 19:28

Weird for your husband to make an account in order to troll you.

CaptSkippy · 12/04/2019 19:29

Ugh, I'm not a fan either.

If you must mix your names together, how about Naromy or Naromi?
Brianne, maybe? Not sure what I am saying.

Byron85 · 12/04/2019 19:29

@Chippychipsforme you are a genius

MrsSarahSiddons · 12/04/2019 19:30

And your third child shalt be named baoi

Quintella · 12/04/2019 19:31

Yroaom is nicer

tempnamechange19 · 12/04/2019 19:32

How about instead? Same principles after all

Twickerhun · 12/04/2019 19:32

How about Noby instead? Same principles

Chippychipsforme · 12/04/2019 19:33

Anyone else imaging the Duchess of Sussex sat on her birthing ball yelling "I told you it was a stupid idea Harry"?

JamB4cream · 12/04/2019 19:33

Reminds me of Bev and Ron's house on Brookside.

Anyone remember Casa Bevron?

Iloveacurry · 12/04/2019 19:34

Don’t do it.

ShinyMe · 12/04/2019 19:34

Hahaha! I love your husband for signing up and posting.

That is a shit shit shit idea though. Please don't call your baby that.

LettuceLeave · 12/04/2019 19:35

@BurrSir

I used to know a Keomi (Keith and Naomi)

Haha this reminds me of the couple who saw the name Caoimhe (pronounced Keeva or Kweeva/Queeva) but they thought it was pronounced 'Cay-oh-me' and named their daughter that 😂

staceyflack · 12/04/2019 19:36

Congratulations! Grin

beela · 12/04/2019 19:36

I know a family where the parents are called Michael and Vicky, their dc are Michelle and Victor. You could go with Byron and Briony, Naomi and Noam.

Or just give your children their own names as presumably they will have your surname??

steff13 · 12/04/2019 19:36

Reminds me of Bryony

Same.

It's not a great name.

tempnamechange19 · 12/04/2019 19:37

@ShinyMe - I'm slightly concerned that he is now invested in Mumsnet! haha!
