Blue-Footed Booby

DH and I were having a debate about whether the blue-footed booby was a well-known bird. I suggested posting a poll to FB, but we agreed that this would probably be biased, since people are more likely to respond if they have heard of it...

But here in the lovely world of mumsnet anonymity, AIBU to ask if you've heard of the blue-footed booby?

Yes thanks to David Attenborough originally and many times since.

Happyandglorious · 10/04/2019 14:03

Toooldtocareanymore · 10/04/2019 14:10

amusedbush · 10/04/2019 14:13

Yep. I work in a university and one of the students brought us back a blue footed booby plush toy when they went on a semester abroad.

lillymunster · 10/04/2019 14:15

I know of and love them. I first heard of them when my aunt sent a postcard with one on from the Galápagos Islands when I was 12. I have a cuddly toy one as well Grin

Bonkerz · 10/04/2019 14:17

I knew about it. Infact I recently sent a picture of one when a guy on POF asked to see my boobies lmao

GarthFunkel · 10/04/2019 14:20

Yes because I've got a juvenile husband. Who has been to the Galapagos.

Slippersandacuppa · 10/04/2019 14:21

Yes! And only because of bird bingo too!

kaitlinktm · 10/04/2019 14:22

I didn't - until I had to do a science cover lesson where we watched a video on blue-footed boobies. The kids then went home and told their parents that Ms Kaitlin had shown them a video about boobies. Hmm

Hoppinggreen · 10/04/2019 14:22

Yes I have

notharryssally · 10/04/2019 14:23

notharryssally · 10/04/2019 14:24

Sciurus83 · 10/04/2019 14:25
