I use social media quite a lot, I've been posting pictures of DC since I started to use facebook and then instagram so when my oldest was around 4 and there's pictures of my other children from birth to now. It's nice to have them there to look back on but I do wonder sometimes whether I should, I find some of my own childhood pictures a bit embarrasing. My DC aren't too bothered by it, youngest is too young understand, middle one couldn't care less, my oldest is a teenager now so she cares a little more and I ask her permission before posting anything of her. Most people I know also post pictures of their DC regularly, I only know a couple who don't at all

Yes RainbowFox! I love how I look, especially in the work fancy dress costumes etc. Last week for example, I was dressed as a Victorian woman, complete with grey wig and huge hat Grin But even 'normal' photos, like me celebrating my birthday last weekend. I posted 2 photos that I love.

I'm an adult who can make that informed choice. I've also grown up being taught that looks aren't as important as all the other things I listed in my previous posts. Despite just turning 50, I don't pick myself apart in the mirror or worry too much about anything looks-wise. Life is so much more than that and I knew that too as a teenager.

If I'd grown up with social media and parents who made themselves feel good, through showing mine and my siblings images off to other people, I think I may have felt very differently. Or at least I would've felt my parents were being hypocritical.

Worra same age as you and view it exactly the same way! My photos are comical usually. Only put a couple of pics of my DC's up and that will be family lunch or holiday maybe. They're certainly not traumatised by it! Grin
