Not to remove my bra at night

PotterHead1985 · 28/03/2019 23:23

Posting here as I know I'll get the traffic.

So Lorraine Kelly is in the news as not removing her bra at bedtime. She's getting some schtick for it. What do you all think?

Should you remove your bra at night? Do you. If you do why? If you don't why?

I don't. I am a 'larger' boosomed lady and to be honest I find it uncomfortable having my baps flapping about in bed!!! Grin. Last time I slept without one was when I cremates my shoulders on holiday in Florida and the pain of putting one on was too much. Confused

So. Thoughts?!!!?

I'm 36c/d so not big really and I go without a bra in general if I can get away with it. Certainly not in bed!

I keep mine on practically all the time and I think it's kept them relatively perky even though I'm v much on the larger side.

My bra comes off as soon as I get in.
Never wear it to bed and I’m a 40G.

Wear a bra in bed often, or a secret support vest. My boobs are very perky still.

I have a soft sleeping bra that I find more comfortable than no bra. My 32Gs are not comfortable without support! I wouldn't wear a daytime underwire bra to bed, that would be too uncomfortable

@TapasForTwo

I'm only a 32B

I'm ridiculously envious. I always wanted petite boobs to go with my petite size. I'm 5'1 and 34E. Small frame, size 10 but I took so top heavy it's embarrassing. People assume I've had implants Blush

I'd love a reduction but DH is very anti cosmetic surgery.

My SIL wears a night bra, the type of non-wired sports type of things. She's quite big-boobed so I get it.

All my proper bras are wired and I’d never wear them in bed. I have them off about ten minutes after getting home normally.

But I have started wearing a crop top thing in bed, I’ve noticed I’m lying on my own boobs and they hurt! I’m a 36HH for context....

Yeah- I'm with Lorraine. But I don't keep the same bra on overnight that I've been wearing in the day...
I don't find bras uncomfortable at all but definitely go for soft non-wired for bedtime.

I never used to sleep in a bra and often used to fling it off as soon as I got home.

Since having my little girl I now sleep in a little crop top soft bra and never wander round the house without one.

I found it uncomfortable during pregnancy to sleep without one and have carried on since. I think my boobs are not as pert as they once were and now I don't like the feeling.

Those who whip them off when they get home are missing out ! I have now perfected the "Bra off from under my top in the car" manoeuvre ! 😁

I'm 36e , hate bras , am saving up for a reduction!

I'm with Lorraine. Never used to wear a bra but have done for years now as was worried about everything going south. Definitely think wearing a bra at night has helped.

Halloumimuffin · 29/03/2019 08:51

I don't mind either way - usually take it off but that's because I shower before going to bed. Don't find wearing a bra uncomfortable, but I definitely benefit from small boob privilege there.

I’m a B and never wear a bra at night, it wouldn’t occur to me to. Hell, I don’t always wear one during the day!

Bra comes off as soon as I get home. I'm a 34C so fairly small. I used to get away with never wearing a bra at all pre DC but after breastfeeding they're way too saggy.

"I'm ridiculously envious"

Don't be @HarryOwl. I'm out of proportion, and too pear shaped to be able to wear shift dresses or similar style clothes.

Judging by some of the sizes mentioned it sounds like some posters need a famous MN bra intervention.

I'm well endowed but don't like bras (or other clothes for that matter) at night. You can but soft sleep bras but no need as they don't move if I don't! Wouldn't dream of being braless otherwise and my nightdress (for when staying away) has built in support

I'm a 34JJ and I always wear a bra!

I do have non wired soft ones for lounging and sleeping but I'm so uncomfortable without one it's not worth the hassle.

Plus I knock things over with them when unrestrained. Also when restrained though really.

Im in the itty bitty titty committee, the only time im without a bra is when washing. Even through labour i had to put it back on mid contraction 😂

God it's the first thing I do when I walk in the house! HATE wearing a bra.

Omg taking your bra off is one of life's great pleasures! As well as taking your hair down. Ahhh.

Hair down, boobs down. Heaven 😍

After I stopped breastfeeding dd 3 years ao I hardly wore a bra at all, that was at 34C, I hate them. Started wearing one everyday after getting pregnant with DD2 as I was uncomfortable. Currently 9m into feeding her and I can't wait to not have to wear a bra again. Not way I'd be wearing one at night if I didn't need to hold a pad in

I don't take my hair down either!! GrinGrinGrinConfused

I am envious of those who can go out without a bra - if I did that it would be an unpleasant looking disaster waiting to happen Grin

I hate the feeling of not having a bra on. I feel as if something is missing, and maybe cold or something? I can't describe it. So yes, I sleep in one. I don't understand all these people who like to whip them off the minute they're in the door!

@HappilyHarridan
Go to Amazon and type in Comfort Sleep bra" and read the reviews. Also try M&S.

I rarely wear "proper" bras anymore unless I'm out for a special occasion. I just wear a comfort bra (sometimes doubling up if the fabric is thin) which I can just step into - and even those come off and t-shirt/camisole goes on once I'm home. Size 38E here.
